      Icymummy:
My kid is gonna be in 3 Gracious and have 3(S) booklist. From what I see in this forum. It's not the 2 best class. They may be stream based on subjects they r strong in.

I know from my friend (living in Tampines), her son's school (Not Chongfu) are stream based on subjects, so the teachers can concentrate a bit more on their weaker subjects.
So the 3(S) book list is not restricted to the 2 best classes?

I brought this up to my colleagues, they say as long as exams are not set based on the concepts taught in the extra book then its fine that the top classes are taught "beyond the syllabus"

No, I think it is still restricted to the 2 best classes. The Onsponge book appears in both book lists except that it is an optional item in the P3 book list as compared to compulsory item in P3S book list.

Well guess those who are not in the top 2 classes will have to purchase the book and do it on our own. And I agree that they do test such challenging questions in exams. It is unfair but we cannot do much.

As to the 4-5 questions in the exam papers....hmm seems quite unfair but how sure are you that this is happening?

It is happening... There are indeed challenging questions being asked in exam papers like what BLLL has mentioned.

For those pupils who are not using the 3(S) booklist have to find their own way to grasp the concept being taught in the Onsponge book. Otherwise, they won't be able to catch up and close up the difference in the learning level to excel in the subject.

Another solution, attend OnSponge tuition centers!

I doubt the school would want to spend the time and effort to teach the pupils something that would not be tested.

Means we r forced to pay $$$ to let our kids attend the tuition center while the cleverer ones have the privilege to learn free in school....

So how do we know which classes are the top 2 classes? Just by basing on a book list? So which classes have 3(S) book list?
