Anyone went to Nan Chiau open house? Any good programme cater to the high ability? Anyone with 245 & above intend to first Nan Chia as first choice? Beside distance, any other reason to do so?

My son got aggregate 241 for PSLE this year, should he choose: (St Joseph Institution, Nan Chiau High School, Chung Cheng High (Main) or Tanjong Katong Secondary School) as first choice?

Where do you stay? In the east? SJI is an independent boys' school. You can choose according to the way you list out the schools. Put the higher COP first follow by the lower ones. However, you chance of getting in SJI is low. But no harm trying.

After reading the posts, I suddenly got worried that since SAP schools focus on Chinese, then, how about English? I would say that our family is more Chinese and my child is not very strong in English. Would the SAP school's strong Chinese environment made our English worse? Can someone advise? Should we go to non-SAP instead? really confused!

Most SAP kids speak English in schools even though they do HMT.

Finally make the choice for my D and submitted

            *1 = St Nicholas
            *2 = Nan Chiau

Did consider Anderson, but choose the above 2 because they only offer express

My eldest daughter is in NCH ,next yr Sec 3 . So I am encouraging my second daughter to list NCH as first choice since it has become a SAP school and has express class only . Her initial first choice was Anderson but we managed to convince her to choose NCH.

Mine is a boy. So we put Catholic High as our first choice & Nan Chiau as second. Since Nan Chiau COP is much lower than Catholic High, he will at least get into the second one. Same reason as yours. It is a SAP school with express only.
