Or maybe it was last year..I'll post the link tonight. The news report has a Bukit Panjang High cover boy who has 266 t-score and has chosen BPGH.

Assuming TOP 10% of 48500 students are above 250, with 4000 IP, it would mean 800+ students would need to go for O level program, this will push up top O level schools cut off point quite a fair bit.

Elsewhere in the forum they've placed the number of IP places at about 4200/4300 and that's not counting the IP places at SOTA. So it's about 500-600 students who score more than 250 who will seek spots in the O level route. But that's assuming everyone wants to go IP. Not everyone does.

Noticed that in 2009, when population is highest, the COP for all school is also highest; so I guess, this year COP will be higher.

That is based on the assumption on the number of places for O level in the good schools remain the same. As far as i know MOE controls and decides on the number of classes/students for Sec 1 in schools (Independent could be excluded?) and I am very sure some of the schools will have no choice but to increase their intake to accomodate the bumper crop of dragon year babies.
