also is it true...that even if we enegage Mr.Neo...most of the the times the return from school will be on his own...because of the sec. school schedule...CCAs etc? -
Yes, from what I know. Perhaps parents of SJI kids using school bus can drop a line here to confirm.

Thanks Dazzle.
Any parents engaging school bus for their SJI kids…please let me know your experience
how often do the kids come back from the school in the school bus… -
My son does not take the sch bus.
But based on his cca, he needs to stay back twice a week.
On wed sch ends at 12.30am but ther is this enrichment programme. s
(learning to play sport can be squash or other games)
so he stays at sxh until like 3 to 4pm.

Do you want to try bus number 5, take from Simei to Jalan Toa Payoh (TRELLIS TWRS) then change to 105, 151, 153, 154 to SJI. Could be faster as bus 5 would use PIE after Jalan Eunos.

sandyman, my son does not take school bus too but I spoke to bus operator Mr Yeo as I was exploring the option. He told me school bus is only provided for one way (morning). In any case, just give him a call to ask about options from Simei.
JRLam, not sure about Sports but I think the Band is high profile as they take in boys for Band via DSA. Probably, we can guess from this : http://www.sji.edu.sg/subpage.php?id=279
As for chance to join the sports CCA of your choice, I believe it will be based on the 4 factors listed in the recent newsletter to parents. -

Another possible way is take the MRT to Eunos, change to bus 966 (15 mins ride) to CJC, then change to 105, 132, 151, 153, 154, 156, 186 to SJI (1 one bus stop).need some advise please...DS just started in SJI...we live in Simei...he's currently taking the MRT from Simei to Newton...and bus no 700 from Newton to Whitley Road...is takes an hour+

Hello All,
My boy is new to SJI and in the O level programme. I read the earlier postings on Pg 1-Pg 20 from this thread and saw a lot of parents are unhappy about the principal Dr Koh in 2009, 2010…No time to read the rest… Can any parents advise if this principal Dr Koh is good?
