How's Geography taught in SJI if there's no textbook ? Teacher give out notes or maybe using internet ? :scratchhead:

I understand from the people in Bookshop that Geography will be taught using worksheets from teachers.

Does anyone know which are the 'high profile' CCAs in SJI that are popular and highly competitive? I believe these CCAs are those which win lots of awards for the school so naturally only those boys who are proficient in those sports will be recruited.

My boy is not exceptional good in any sport. Will he be given a chance to join the sport CCA of his liking? Do they have a 'non-competitive' category for the sports' CCAs?

      Thanks

For CCA- any parents know what is Design Club ?

Is this one of the main CCA (classified under Performing Arts in the website, not sure why) or we have to join as a 2nd CCA?

Did you contact the bus operator Mr Yeo at 97460505?

yes...that's an option...DS thinks that school bus is not cool for sec school...but open to it...just exploring options

also is it true...that even if we enegage Mr.Neo...most of the the times the return from school will be on his own...because of the sec. school schedule...CCAs etc?

Yes, from what I know. Perhaps parents of SJI kids using school bus can drop a line here to confirm.

My son does not take the sch bus.

But based on his cca, he needs to stay back twice a week.
On wed sch ends at 12.30am but ther is this enrichment programme. s
(learning to play sport can be squash or other games)
so he stays at sxh until like 3 to 4pm.

                    Fyi

Do you want to try bus number 5, take from Simei to Jalan Toa Payoh (TRELLIS TWRS) then change to 105, 151, 153, 154 to SJI. Could be faster as bus 5 would use PIE after Jalan Eunos.

sandyman, my son does not take school bus too but I spoke to bus operator Mr Yeo as I was exploring the option. He told me school bus is only provided for one way (morning). In any case, just give him a call to ask about options from Simei.

JRLam, not sure about Sports but I think the Band is high profile as they take in boys for Band via DSA. Probably, we can guess from this : http://www.sji.edu.sg/subpage.php?id=279

As for chance to join the sports CCA of your choice, I believe it will be based on the 4 factors listed in the recent newsletter to parents.
