Happened to meet someone whose kid is studying in Nan Chiau and she told me the classes are allocated randomly for P1. Hope this helps to clarify doubts that some of us have here.

Hi sysherlene, is your boy the independent type? If yes, then it should be ok if you are just there for the first day. But, this P1 stuff where parents are allowed into school premise is like once in a blue moon dingy, so maybe, u want to consider another day with him in school? Did you talk to him and ask him what he wants? Ask him how he will feel if a lot of other parents are there and you are not, ask him if it is ok with him. His feeling is something for us to consider too in making the decision.

Hi tweety17, thanks for the advise. I'm confirmed to take leave on the 1st day of school. He's quite indepedent, but still in a new environment, he will be more comfy if he sees familiar faces around. I will see how it goes, and if needed, then take another day off.

I refering to NCPS’s letter dated 17 Dec 09 on the things to bring on the first day of school.

It was mentioned that STELLA Worksheets to be brought along. I thought the bookshop told me that the following items will be issued by the school teacher directly instead (though we paid for):

- STELLA Learning Sheets
- STELLA Learning Worksheets
- Vocabulary Cards
- NCPS Report Book

They were not included in the books I brought back home. Do let me know whether you are having the same as me.

Yes, I have the same understanding as yours.

If I am not wrong, the only thing that should be issued by the school during the first few days of school should be the communication book.

I am more inclined towards communicating with the form teacher via email instead. For parents with existing kids at NCPS, is email the common way in which you communicate with your kids' form teachers or it's through the comm book ?
