German is very phonetic, not difficult to learn the basics. But perhaps in terms of exposure, it is easier to find practice partners for French and Japanese.

I have learnt German before in Goethe Institut and I think it is quite fun. Does the school have any Stammtisch gathering? It’s when learners of German language get together and speak only German to practice. When I was a student in Goethe, we had German activities like movie screening, get together for meal and other activities to expose us to the language. Tell your DD not to give up. Btw, how old is she?

My son is now in his 3rd year doing German. All his 3 teachers are Asian, either Singaporean or Vietnamese.
