Thanks Blue Belt for your comments. Is it true that there are many bullies and lesbians in CHIJ Toa Payoh as my gal is very timid. I heard that from a few of my friends though not sure how true it is. Any one can share on this. Do anyone know when CHIJ Toa Payoy moving back to Toa Payoh as it is now under renovation.

Unfortunately both schools do not have open house.

        Blue Pearl:

Hi any parents can share your experiences with CHIJ Toa Payoh and CHIJ Lady of Good Counsel. I am confused with these two options. Though Toa Payoh is nearer (within 1 KM) than the other, i find the Good Counsel (more thank 2 KM) small and conducive. What are your views.

Go for CHIJ Toa Payoh. I have a friend who has been through what you going through now. No regrets for her daughter in P3 now at CHIJ Toa Payoh. In fact, she lives within 1 km of CHIJ Lady of Good Counsel but chose to enrol her gal in CHIJ Toa Payoh and went through balloting process becos the CHIJ Toa Payoh further away from her house like 1 - 2km or more. Her daughter is so happy in her school though has to sleep around 8 plus at night.

        Blue pearl,

Agree with sembgal. Go for chij (Toa Payoh) better.
        Toa Payoh ij Psle results
Is higher academic standard than olgc (somewhat similar to oln standard.)

Moreover, toa Payoh ij is affliated to a secondary school.

Ij Toa Payoh (primary) no lesbian.

          But Toa Payoh (secondary) -
Other primary schools' students infiltrate into ij toa payoh secondary, after Psle. They come from all types of background, some secondary school girls from there are q defiant, face disciplinary issue. Lesbian or not, not sure. But some of them face discipline cases. The secondary section has normal stream, not just express stream. There is insight info that in future, the secondary school hope to raise the cop (cut off point), so that in future one day, the school hope that they won't have to take any more normal steam students, but only express stream.

Just to share that for girls to study in all girls school, in sec level, there will be lesbians around and you have to be mentally prepared that your girl may become a lesbian no matter how "guai" your girl is now. Think carefully.

As parents, when our kids are still young, receptive to our listening & their character at a age still moldable, need to teach our children what is right & what is wrong. If we've daughters, lesbian is a sure no !

Once they go secondary school, the peer pressure influence v strong. This friend of mine told me when young, her girl was very obedient. But now that she is in sec 3, everyday go window shopping after school in orchard road, with her classmates. My Fren v angry with her, told her to come home & revise her work .... Then her girl will start arguing with her mum.

Peer pressure influence is very strong in secondary schools. Some can get influenced by peers as early as P5 or P6 in primary schools. It is very important for parents to spend a lot of time with their children from early childhood onwards. The child will be more receptive to parents' advice if from young the parents have been spending time talking to the children on daily basis.

If your gal likes a certain girl in the same school, it doesn’t necessarily mean she’s lesbian. Girls can also admire girls for their leadership skills etc.
