If your gal likes a certain girl in the same school, it doesn’t necessarily mean she’s lesbian. Girls can also admire girls for their leadership skills etc.

GEP does not mean the child is gifted in all subjects. I think it's good that school is helping them in their weaker areas.

There are GEP kids attending tuition/enrichment centres too, there's nothing unusual at all.

My take on BGR and alternative lifestyle. I don’t think studying in co-ed or single gender school will prevent or accelerate the process.

              Hi SAHM_Tan,

My main concern is distance. Intention is to send my boy in morning, placed him in student care and fetch him after work. Worried for the long hours as heard no afternoon nap in student care.

I don't know what's a typical student care schedule. You can call them to chk.
Talk to the student care person-in-charge, you will have a clearer picture.

What's the alternative if you do not place him in student care?

Student care schedule is as follows:

                  - teacher pick up from school bus drop off
                  - 1.30pm onwards: bathe / lunch
                  - 2.30pm or 3pm onwards: Homework time
                  - Some offer extra tuition
                  - 4.30pm onwards: Play among friends or reading time
                  - 6 - 7pm: Go home

External tuition / enrichment is not unusual definitely coz good students go too but \"remedial\" class has an added connotation to it.

You have to be \"selected\" by the teacher to attend remedial classes. The parents are quite worried about it.

This is very tiring for a child, if there is no nap time inside the after care centre. Imagine the poor child wake up very early, go to school for flag raising ceremony around 7.30am, and no nap in the afternoon at the after school care centre. How to tahan?

The kid must go to sleep at 9pm latest. That’s why parents should not try to squeeze in any more coaching after dinner. It is very tiring.

But I find it’s better for the kid to have a structured work pattern after school esp if he/she is the lazy type who needs a lot of scolding from parents to do some work. Such kids will listen to the teachers there, complete their work and parents won’t need to nag so much at home.

                        It’s up to the parent.
