I am interested to send my dd to AK. However, she is born in Dec. Does that mean that she cant join the rest of the children from start of Term1??

Ascension is a church kindergarten, follow MOE rules.
go by calendar YEAR, not by calendar month.

whether a child is born in January or December -
as long as they are born in the same year, yr child can still join start of January, Term 1.

reason: kindergarten go by calendar YEAR born in , not by month.

just like when go Primary 1, regardless of whether the kid born in January or December - MOE state that when child is due for P1 registration, have to start P1.

But that was what i was told when i called Acension. Im also hoping that they go by year rather than month.. Hmm.. so how? Should i call again to clarify?
To be honest, i called twice. Once the person told me can enter in Term 3. 2nd time, another staff told me must join the following year's batch. So, im very confuse.

I had the opportunity to visit AK and was very impressed. The classes were a hive of activity, and I liked it that the children were working with their teachers in small groups. I also liked the friendly messages placed throughout the school about behaviours and attitudes, and was very impressed with the children’s work that were put up - so thoughtful and innocent. Saw the teachers and principal interacting with the children and there was a lot of respect. Seriously, this matters a lot to me, because I am so sick of seeing and hearing my child’s present playgroup teacher shout and scold!

The ex-principal, Jenny Kwek, of Ascension Kindergarten was great. Who knows where is she working now? I will not hesitate to send my child to a Pre-school led by Jenny Kwek.
