    • RE: All About HFMD

My 3 kids had hfmd in June this year.

Few weeks later after they recovered, their finger nails and toe nails started peeling. From the base, there will be a small crack then gradually the nail will peel off.

It is a "torturing" and painful ordeal for them coz it’s such a slow taking process for the nails to slowly peel off and at the top, the sides start cracking and it gets very painful when they accidentally use the fingers to do things and gena then nails. I had to use plaster to protect whatever leftover nails waiting to drop off. Sometimes it gets drop off accidentally then bleeding occur.

My kids had "no nails", and had to wait for it to grow.

This, I wasn’t informed about. The post effect of hfmd until I goggled about what’s happening and found similar stories of parents sharing these after their kids has hfmd. And I tot they has fungus infection! Scary.

    • RE: Stationery and School bags

My kids wore bata shoes during kindy. The quality is okay, but I dislike the soles as it can be slippery when it's slightly worn out but still wearable. Price $23-$24..,

Then my girl said she slipped and fell on the cement type of flooring at sch during corridor in p1 despite being a new pair of shoe. And also when they sat at the hall, the outer side gets dirty while inner is still white. I used to scrub till I gave up and dump into washing machine. Back of rubber sole also start to crocodile.

So I thought buy cheap cheap can always change. $9.90 one fr china, rubber sole I like. But it didn't lasts term. One wash and it shrunk. Cannot wear.

Then bought a Taiwan brand. $15.90. So far so good. Sole same like bata type.

Then come son's sch orientation and i saw the sch vendor selling raymax shoes. I didn't take a look at all until second trip down.

The shoes feels solid and the soles are not those plastic type. It is a suitable school for sports and nafa tests. For my son, his sch rules states must wear lace for all levels. So they have to learn to tie them.
Price starts fr $24 for smaller size p1-2, then $26, $28 onwards.
They have two models for narrow feet or wide feet.

It's my first time getting so I can't comment if it's lasting, how good is it etc. But from the look and feel and quality, it is better than bata shoes. A cheaper version of branded school shoes I feel.
Adidas or was it reebok was selling 2 for $69 at JEM. The skin of the shoe on display was already cracking.

Raymax sells this special shoe cleaner. U spray on the shoe then u use a cloth to wipe it. Here's the website http://www.raymaxscience.com.sg

There's also a thread on sch shoes. U can do a search on raymax to see review.

riding on to this thread about school shoes.

can anyone with secondary school children advise what brand of shoes you buy? something which has a good sole support. thanks.
You can try this brand call raymax. They have two types of shoes. Narrow or wide for broader feet. They have a factory at yishun. Try searching for their website.

I'm glad to have found this brand. Their below soles are what I've been searching for. Those rubbery type non slip. My kids been wearing bata type and often slip at sch as the grips wear off easily.

      Hi alibaba

I enrolled my two kids to Cma when they r in k2 and k1 respectively.
Reason being, I wanted my elder child to learn addition subtraction timetable in a easier method and also faster. Plus it helps to stimulate the brain.

When I teach her maths, I used dots and sticks or number lines to do + or -. Very tedious.

It took awhile for them to fully memorize the formulas in order to do Cma. I do see that it helped her when she went to P1 and had no problem. In term 4, when they started on multiplications and divisions by grouping, it was much easier for her too.

Cma conducts trial for the child. And if u refer my child’s name, u can get 8% off one time. You may PM me should u be interested to sign up.
