        Weightage?

I thought all 4 subjects have equal weightage by the means of T-Score calculation?

yes , i knew that all 4 subjects carry equal weightage.

My query is , as i am starting the revision of science for my p6 son… do i need to concentrate on all the topics in science in equal importance like to stat from diversity of p3 or give more importance for p6 topics like interaction …
as we have limited time i donot want to waste time if it carries less marks.

                rubydoll,

All the topics from primary 3 to primary 6 are equally important. Your child should revise the topics thoroughly from primary 3 onwards. Do not just focus on the primary 6 topics.

                Hope this info helps. 😄

                      Rubydoll,

Yes, must revise all plus extra reading outside of text book.
You can use the thematic map/ concept map to help you.
The coloured ones at the back of the
MY PAL PSLE SCIENCE GUIDE is very good.

On top of that, take note that you need to
practice lots of test questions scenrios as in PSLE,
they test on how well you digest and apply the
diffferent related topics in one question.
                      Similarly for PSLE Math.

Also, need to master process skills (question answering technique).
There is one chapter in the My PAL science guide that deals with
                      this, VERY IMPORTANT!!!

Always answer to the question and use the science format instead of your own words. Many students understand the concept but the problem is that they try to answer according to their own language ability. Actually, it is not difficult to answer the questions in a 'safe' manner. I usually change answers provided in many exam papers as I find that the answers provided are not good enough. I find that the best answers are found in RGS exam papers so use it as a guide.

For example, if there are 2 set ups, setup A shows a grasshopper in a container with a plastic lid and setup B a grasshopper in a similar container with a wire mesh on top. The questions posed will be

                        1. What will be observed after 2 hours?
Ans: the grasshopper in setup A will die while the grasshopper in setup B will be alive.
                        2. Explain your answer in (1)
Ans: There is not enough air in setup A as the plastic lid prevent air from entering the container while the wire mesh in setup B allows air to enter. Animals need air to survive.
                        3. What can you do to ensure that the grasshopper in setup A remains alive after 2 hours?
Ans: Replace the lid of the container of setup A to a wire mesh so that air can enter it.

Lots of questions are asked based on similar concepts. The examiner will play around with questions and you must learn to play around with the answers. 😉
