Muffins:
Oh. Thanks Andaiz. So, the mother can have time alone in the house with the baby, to get her familiar with her face and looks?
yeah, and the smell -oooh, the baby smell makes me laugh...as you can tell, I'm one of those mummy's who kiss their baby till grandma has to clean their cheeks every few hours
-
Yeah. Oh... this reminds me of an incident. Once, when my cuz was in P1, he came home one day to relate this to my auntie:
Cuz: Hi mummy!
Auntie: Hi, sweetie, how was school today?
Cuz: Good! Today we made each other nudies!
Auntie, thinking he said \"nude\": :!: :faint: WHAT!
Cuz: Ya! And my favourite! The Koka one.
Auntie:
 :rotflmao: -
I heard that some people cannot take too much "red date" drink during confinement. Can cause urination pain. Just a caution to share, whether true or not I am not sure. I guess if you have urination pain, just reduce the amount you drink and it will probably go away.

I luv pig stomach pepper soup too. Don't know how to clean, so get the clean one from supermarket. Just need to go back and wash a little more with salt. It is much cleaner than those bought from market. How about kopiying's house for now?? :siam:
My fav is the stir fried kidneys and livers...but all time fav is pig stomach soup-confinement or no confinement...but very difficult to clean lah, so rely on my auntie to help make!
I luv the mixed pig organs with mee sua soup, and the slice fish with mee sua soup.....mmmm...makes my mouth start watering -

BusyB, thanks for the pointer. Would buy it from the supermarket then. Coarse salt or the refined one we use for cooking? TIA!

Iβm trying the kidneys for the first time, for the sake of my health. Got a bit of smell but when eaten still ok. The other delicacy is the hong zao chicken. Yummy!

I don't use coarse salt at home. Used only the refined salt, so I use that for washing. I use a lot though, and rub it without adding too much water initially, then rinse once I'm done with that. While doing the rubbing, I will also tear / cut off the fatty pieces sticking around.

For cooking, I usually put it in boiling water to cook for 10mins, then drain it. This will remove most smell. Cut it up to put in pepper soup to cook (boil the pepper soup 1st and it taste better if the pepper soup is boiled with some pork ribs or the big pork bones).
Try it out and tell me your results! Enjoy! -
