I think my best advised for you is to walk away and choose SN if you deem Cedar school food selection and space compound to be small for your daughter to grow and study in.

Cedar Netball is one of the school niche sport and is highly competitive since they have been participating all the school Zonal and National competition year in year out.
Asked those students who have gone through DSA trials and you would understand this sport is not those CCA sport where you can easily walk in and get in one.

Dun Think Cedar is good enough for your daughter if you think the food selection and school space constraint is the main consideration for your daughter school selection. And I honestly think SN suit you more then your daughter.

Just to share the same happened to my nephew too!


He prefers poly but parents (especially SIL) wants him to go JC. He got 8 points (10-2) and Dunman is the first choice due to proximity to home. They appealed today but many are appealing too. Some are 9 pointers whereas others are 8.

SIL even called MOE to enquire the reason for meeting COP but did not get posted to the JC but MOE officer only suggest them to go down to JC and appeal. Did not disclose any additional information.

Whats there to ask since the school choice is allocated by MOE computer system and the system pioritise Merit then follows by the placing of the choices. If the child result meet the COP and place as 1st choice and didnt get a place means he have lost out to others by results or by decimal places.
The likely reason could be DHS manage to draw more 6-8 pointers to their school as this year is the first time they participate in JAE posting of school and they are in to attract some of the smartest students outside of IP programme.

NYJC will never be a 3rd placing JC and never was.
They are now joint 3rd place as this year COP have change due to popularity of that JC.
Please take note that it is the school cohort A level results is the barometer that determines which JC is the best rank JC.

Yes, NYJC have done a good job marketing themselve to the public and able to draw few nett 6 & 7 pointers to the school. But if they were to be able to do that for the next few years comsecutively and go above VJC in terms of popularity COP.
Then we can acknowledge that they are 3rd rank JC in terms of COP which is also its popularity choice of the JCs among the PSLE students.

As always, the school keep producing Stellar awesome O level result.

Don't be disappointed my friend. There will always be a chance for your son to get into VS.
All he need to do is to stay focus, be determined and study hard and attained excellent result in the current school he posted to for the next 2 years and also try to be actively participating in his CCA with some leadership post and he can apply for VS Admission to IP at year 3.
Motivate him and give him direction to go all out to achieve his admission to his Dream school.
