    • RE: Kids say the darnest things...

When i hand-wash my clothes, I have the habit of throwing the basin of laundry water into the toilet bowl. Once I was handwashing my 4-yr-old’s bright red dress, the colour runs and when I flushed the toilet with the water, it leaves a pretty bright pink in the toilet bowl.

When DS woke up from her nap, & was using the toilet, she noticed it straightaway. "Why is the toilet bowl water pink, mummy?". I answered "because i was washing your red dress".

She considered that for a moment and kept quiet. It was only later that night when she finally asked what might have been bugging her that few hours…

"Mummy, why did you wash my favourite red dress in the toilet bowl?"

Thanks for the informative post - I haven't read up much about this prior to your posting. Come to think about it - this would probably be a potential common our children would have to face in future. It helps to know more so we can help our kids. It's creepy how technology can allow common people to hide behind an anonymous name and hurl insults/hurts so easily...

So sorry to hear that you have to go through this. Take time to recover from the hurt, but be back again soon, because your good intentions has probably helped/reached out to (& will continue to) many other sincere honest moms like yourself - the way you have wanted things to turn out.,, :rahrah:

Thanks for turning your horrid experience into something we can learn from.

Like to check I am staying infront of EFPS is it mean I have priority in 2C?

      or if 2C have 100 seat, 50 within 1km 51 more than 1km. Do I need to

      ballot?
Sorry I'm probably not the best person to reply, cos I'm not exactly sure how the system works, but as far as I know, for the past several years, I haven't heard anyone who had wanted to but couldn't get into Edgefield Pri. (I even know people who missed the actual registration but still got it)

Possibly someone else can help with the know-hows of the mechanics of the balloting system?

I have come to term with it - it is ok to have not-so good grade for a while. After all, PSLE is just one of the many exams. I hope I won't regret later on

I think I'm not going to be too bothered with my ds2 psle scores in future. After bugging ds1 and everything, I realise that no matter how you do in primary sch, you still get promoted to a sec sch. It is then in sec sch that will decide your path in future.

So as long as my ds2 can do well enough to go to the express stream, I think I'll be happy already. Then I'll pump in tuition for him at Sec 2.

Cos for my ds1, even though he did relatively well, he still 'almost die' in Sec 1 and I still have to find ways to help him. And it's only term 1!

I tend to think that success in future has got more to do with the resilience, confidence, self-motivation etc of a child. Perhaps these are what the CCAs & other activities can help develop more than mugging can? I don't know... As an adult looking around & back, the importance of my PSLE score seemed to have faded... But as always, balance is the hardest thing to achieve in parenting.

      Hi

May I know anyone's child here is in P2 Hope?

MINE is in P2Hope. I'm a \"just a few minutes old NEWBIE\" here, joined this group cos my friend saw your post and asked if I would like to link up with you.

We can get in touch here perhaps, or privately if you prefer 😄
