Hi there,
Anyone’s DS or DD got the NUS medicine application result yet ? Heard that it was slightly delay due to some admin problems πŸ™„πŸ™„
NUS YLL has offered at around 7 pm this evening to A levels students. NUSH and IB students received their offers earlier today.

Personally I find the school uniforms from Bibi&Baba very thin (especially the shirts), and ill-fitting. Is there an alternative uniform supplier? Thanks for the advice!

I remember we tailor-made at Bibi&Baba a few years ago. You can contact them to find out more.
Anyone or any of your kids from NBS? My niece wish to know their teaching style there.Heard that there is no teaching and all are mostly self study

I think what your niece means is there is no or little spoon feeding in the uni. This is different from zero teaching. If your niece still has not learnt how to self learn, an essential skill that she needs to acquire before she hits the workplace, then the uni is able to prepare her on this. If the uni is still spoon-feeding its undergraduates like what the JCs are doing, then the uni is really doing these undergraduates a disservice.

She said there is no lecture ,only class participation and tutorial . All need to self study πŸ˜‚ and all the students are in the lost. Some lecturers are not helpful
NBS has no more physical lectures. SMU Business School has no physical lectures too. Only NUS Business School still has some lectures but should be moving away from physical lectures too. The unis are having interactive seminar style for lessons.

NBS has developed elearning materials such as recorded lectures and online learning activities to help the students to self learn. Even the new SUSS has no physical lectures but elearning materials too.

It is really important to learn to self-learn. My dd has acquired the self-learning at age of 14. My ds currently at 13 has not acquired this skill. Many students who are exposed to years of tuition have failed to acquire this skill early and they do struggle to acquire this skill in the uni but don't worry, they will get there.

I was just telling my sis gotta stop watching all those K-drama. It's planting unrealistic ideas in my head.

Told DH that my shoulders are very tight lately and back aching. K-drama dudes will give their gals a loving massage. DH told me to go sit on the massage chair.
Funz, your DH needs to learn that if reject DW must also know how to reject nicely...he needs to learn to say something like this - I don't know how to massage and I might make your back ache worse, better let the expert (massage chair) does the massaging for you. LOL!

She got quite upset about it. 🀷 she IS a germaphobe. I think she will only be able to date another germaphobe. God knows if they can even get to the kissing stage then... :siam:
I am laughing so loudly in my office and I think my colleagues must be thinking that I am crazy.
Do brushing the teeth and using the mouthwash help? The mouthwash bottles always state \"kill 99.9% bacteria\".

Can, if they make elective freezing of eggs legal.
Ideal fertility age is around 23-31 years old. This is the age where our girls will not be interested in childbearing. So if freezing of eggs is legalised, would mothers here encourage your daughters to freeze their eggs at mid 20s?

Men with money can still find a young wife after they've hit 45. Look at Aaron Kwok and Leon Lai.

For women, better find one before 35.

CloudCloud: 25 is too young. I'd stretch today's women's shelf life longer by a decade.
Can the women's fertility shelf life also be stretched by another decade? I have girlfriends having menopause by 45.
Another unfairness between the two genders. The men's fertility shelf life is definitely much much longer than the women's. And it is often the women who have to face the pressure of infertility.

Really?

Do people still such a mindset in this day and age?
Yes and in China, parents market their children openly.

After a while it may not be about financial worth or whatever. Some people who are used to living very individualistic lives focusing on one's individual pursuits, may end up being used to a lifestyle of being alone, and may be less willing to share their lives or make compromises and sacrifices which are bound to occur when one is committed to a relationship.

I hope my kids will be willing to experience and build relationships with a significant other.
Dating when young, is quite different from dating when one is established in one's career in say, mid-30s. I think there is a certain beauty is supporting each other when we still had nothing, to seeing each other through graduation, the adjustments to work, and ultimately, career progression, kids and all.
Totally agree. I have gone through that stage. I even went through NS with my other half and we only got married after 10 years. πŸ™‚
