The briefing on Elective Subjects & IDP was held first week of July. 52 students will be selected for IDP. Selection criteria based on overall academic results, disposition in science & maths, teachers' feedback on students' attitude & aptitude toward applied learning during performance tasks / STEM programs. There is a certain rigor on this & really require the child's interest and commitment to see himself/herself through the program.
      thanks for this

any parents here have any feedback from the current 52 students selected?

Congrats to all parents whose child have gotten CO/WL ..

My son got CO from SJI (O Levels) and SST, hence now a decision to be made
So far he is quite indifferent
Wondering if any parents have any insights/thoughts regarding these two schools?

Once your son accept a DSA contract, he is locked in for the next 4 years all the way, cannot come out anymore join other Secondary school, until he finishes his O level exam in year 2025.

Right now, at PSLE, to what extent is your son interested in subject Science itself ?

If your son intend to take Triple Pure Sciences in Sec 3 (year 2024), then obviously he cannot go SST, because SST permit only

      \"Double\" Pure Sciences plus
One Applied Science subject combination. No Triple Pure Sciences allowed in SST, at Upper Sec. This, you must be aware of.

      But
if you think your son unlikely to choose Triple Pure Sciences combination in Upper Sec, then Yes, he can go SST.

The difference in SST curriculum, vs. other O-level track Secondary schools curriculum, just for subject Science alone ?

SST students are often engaged in meaningful hands on projects, that readily guide them how to apply Scientific concepts keenly.

Soon, the Principal of SST will invite all P6 students offered COs of what to expect, should they accept SST CO. She will paint a rosy exciting picture, of what studying in SST is like. Do attend this briefing, for all P6xers to welcome on board

Hi phtthp .. appreciate the insights .. very helpful

      Thanks again floppy

Have sat in one of these before and there are some space behind the last row for some luggage. Seats can also be folded down to accommodate hence the reason why I am considering.

We are probably driving down and up Margret River with stops every 2/3 days before heading back to city and flying back.

In Class 4 license is required, then may have no choice but hire 2 cars instead.
Hi All .. just to update in case anyone interested in the future

Had managed to rent and drive the 12 seater communter

Seems there are 2 types of license in Aust .. namely for cars and for trucks

Since the 12 seater is considered under the 'car' category, we are deemed as able to rent and drive

At least this was what I was told when I rented the car .. but best to check again in case things change

Hi All. Just wondering if anyone has rented a 12-seater Toyota Commuter (https://www.toyota.com.sg/showroom/new-models/hiace-commuter#AMAZING%20FEATURES) in Perth before?

Planning a trip for 2 families so wondering if the usual Class 3 driving license in Singapore can drive this in Perth? Currently have 5 adults, 2 children (10yo and 6yo) and 2 toddlers (both 2yo).

      Many thanks in advance
