schellen:this sounds great, exactly what I'm looking for, may I know where's this place?
The bonus is that for this centre, they hired a teacher specially for the after sch care children and she would pick them up at the pri sch and bring them to the centre. She would also give them assessments to do (which we pay for) and she will supervise and mark them. She helps with the weekly spelling revision as well. She will also plan activities suitable for pri sch children that they will carry out after tea time and during holidays.
If you are undecided, check if the centre has such a teacher and will treat the pri sch children as a separate class and plan with them in mind, or if the centre just babysits them and rotates the duty among the existing teachers, with no special planning for this group.

[Novena] BASC
Dear Parents,
I'm staying at Novena area and my son is currently in P1 this year (afternoon session), so I'm looking for a before-school student care centre nearby, just a place for me to drop him in the morning on the way to work, and then get the school bus to pick him up from the center to his primary school.
Can any of the parents here suggest a place like this or any other solution?
:?
Thanks in advance!
Cheers,

RE: P1 Preparation - Chinese
same here. the last parent-teacher-meeting i attended with the chinese teacher, she asked me to enroll my son to a chinese enrichment class. my son is currently attending phonic enrichment class and he can already read within 6 months joining the enrichment class. looks like the kindergarten relies on all these enrichment classes too much, makes me wonder what they've been doing all the while

learningtobekiasu:
Total vacancies for phase 2C had been revised to 50 (looks like somebody withdraw from 2B), and there are 46 people registered within 1KM, so only left 4 places for 30 plus ppl to fight for.
so what was the final breakdown?andrew:
SJI Junior, at the end of day 1 of phase 2C:
Total vacancies: 49
Within 1KM: 29
1 KM - 2KM: 38
Beyond 2KM: 7 -

RE: [Novena] Primary Schools
Anyone registered at SJI for Phase 2C here? I just did it for my son this morning, by 9 am there were already 8 within 1 KM, 10 between 1-2 KM, and 2 beyond 2 KM. I'm getting very nervous already

RE: All About Home Addresses
[Moderator's Note: Topics merged.]
Hi All,
Just a quick question, is there a minimum staying period in a particular address to be considered when determining school distance to that address?
I just worried that the recently (2-3 months ago) T.O.Ped, massive apartment blocks nearby our building may add significant numbers of qualifying children for balloting within 1KM distance. -
RE: All About Measuring Home-School Distance
Dear Parents,
I would like to share this convenient way of checking whether your address falls within the 1KM radius from a particular school:

BTW, can ChiefKiasu advise me on my son's chance of getting into SJI Junior during phase 2C this year, we stay within 1KM from the school.
