I want to ask as employer
1) who pay for the embassy documents?? Maid or employer?
I read that this are no obligation for employer to pay
2) do u pick your maid from airport or she take cab back herself?
3) do u buy present for her to bring home?? Like what???
4) what if they go and not come back? WHAT TO DO?????

1. No embassy documents required. Anyway no obligation to pay.
2. Had a maid for 3 years and we let her go home every year. I sent her to the airport first time and told her that subsequently she has to manage on her own. Coming back take MRT.
3. Bought a box of chocolates for her kids and usually one new pair of clothes for her Hari Raya.
4. Always be prepared that they do not come back. I give her cash $10x5 pcs and told her that is for emergency use ONLY. She usually spends that the airport for bribes etc before boarding flight to Singapore.

Whatever you give them, pay them, do for them, etc... it is out of your own good heart. They are not obligated to repay you, or to honour the promise to come back. If they don't come back, you just have to move on... In my case, I pay for the flights for them to go back - they get everything up to the current month salary - when they come back, they get the full salary plus free flights. If they don't come back, at least I don't have to pay for the flight.

The embassy documents for Homebleave process fee are pay by maid or employer? I read somewhere its employer only pay for air ticket and the embassy documents are no obligated by employer to pay (maid shld pay for themselves)

Want to check, although bit early.

My maid contract end next May. She wants to continue after. May I know what are the procedures amd things to do.

1. Employer (I) have to buy ticket to send her back then ome back later, right?

2. Do we keep one mth of the salary to play safe..what if she does come back? And return her when she is back.

3. how to renew the EP and contract cos there is no loan..

4. How long normally they go and come back?

1. Remember to get the exit permit from the native country before leaving Singapore. For filipino, ensure she has the OEC exit permit so that she can exit phillippines airport. Think same requirement for Indo maid. If not, after she goes back to her native country, she will have problem coming back to Singapore.

2. Buy insurance and apply online @ MOM website

3. General Rule of Thumb for HOme Leave = 2 weeks paid leave. Some employers give up till 3 weeks paid leave.

4. Depending on how much you trust your maid. I will on hold $500.

The embassy stated Two (2) copies of Standard Employment Contract (Original) –, does that mean I give them the old contract???

What is this?? New contract we don't have wah, so I write out a general one or how?
