How you all find the discipline of anderson pri ?

I know a few pv who told me the students are wild. They said dont know is it the teachers dont care or they helpless, the students can run wildly and shout loudly in the canteen and the pick up point. The pv got try to stop them but the students like dont care. The pv said the teachers told them the school say cannot shout at the students, but must talk nicely. Compared to last year like very bad

Managed to visit and tour the school. Overall, clean and vibrant environment with many facilities. School will take-in a total of 7 P1 classes with 30 students each. Rounding up to approximately 1,300 students in total. However, the student care centre is pretty small, can accommodate to only 60 kids. So may not have much placement opportunities for those who wish to place their kids there. According to the staff, their last year's PSLE result is ranked above national average.

Canteen food seems a little costly. Saw a stall charging $1.20 - $1.50 on the price list for some sort of noodle of rice. Can't recall clearly. Was thinking if $2 is even enough for my kid to consume a proper meal there.

Those who wish to pick-up and drop-off kids via personal vehicle may find it a little challenging. The only place to do so is along the road which has only 2 lanes and is offended congested.

When asked about their strengths, they just mentioned that they are a neighbourhood school and not to compare with other top schools.

Will be going to Mayflower Primary for their Open House to find out more about what they offer.

Would you like to share the difference between Anderson and Mayflower after you went for Mayflower open house?

Thanks for the advice! My risk appetite is very small and I will apply via online for HGS. Praying very hard that there is no balloting required for SC <2 km. :xedfingers:
You can try calling PLMGS on the third day of registration Thurs 1 Aug between 2:30pm-4:30pm to enquire on the breakdown of the registration. In view that the birth rate in 2013 is very much lower, PRs may stand a chance in popular schools if the Singapore citizens does not apply.

Any view should I try Anderson or TG in amk? Both I am between 1-2km.
      Cheryl

You can try Anderson in phase 2C.

The take-up rate this year (born 2013 year of the snake) is similar to 2016 (born 2010 year of the tiger) where balloting is conducted for those applicants who are Singapore citizens living outside 2 km.

You can visit https://andersonpri.moe.edu.sg/parents/p1-registration for the breakdown.

I watched a video by Education minister Mr Ong on why every school is a good school. Schools tries their best to help every child. Some offers more academic rigor than the rest. Parents have to decide whether they prefer their child to learn in school or go home and watch TV until their parents comes home because the school does not give any homework. For those that prefer their child to enjoy their childhood, then it doesn't matter which school to register their child for P1 since every school is a good school.

I had the same feel on anderson. There's no affiliation to the secondary school. So probably a competitive environment but is that what you want...gotta ask yourself.

Anderson Primary School's strength is in their CCAs (wide variety of 14 CCAs) and especially in their performing arts CCAs.

All 6 groups won awards (5 distinctions- highest award, 1 accomplishment- 2nd highest) at the SYF.
You can visit https://www.singaporeyouthfestival.sg/arts-presentation/syf-2018-ap-results for more information.

The top PSLE student in 2017 is a basketball player who went to Hwa Chong Institution through the Direct Schools Admission (DSA) exercise.

The school offers a well-rounded education without losing its academic rigor.
They partner with Zhonghua Cultural Society to teach moral values to pupils (Dizigui- Standards for Being a Good Student and Child) during Chinese Language periods. You can visit https://sites.google.com/a/dizigui.org.sg/english/home for more information.

The school also organises parenting talks on Saturdays to help parents.
I suppose the school is called a neighbourhood school because it does not take in top 1% GEP pupils in P4 like Rosyth and Henry Park.

The school takes part in the healthy meals in schools program where stallholders serves brown rice, wholemeal bread, fruits and vegetables to pupils. Please visit https://www.hpb.gov.sg/schools/school-programmes/healthy-meals-in-schools-programme for more details.

I am glad my children have a chance to study at Anderson Primary School.
Do share the experience of your school visit to Mayflower Pr.

Sure to have ballot for St Nic at phase 2C. I see that phase 2C results will be out on 2 Aug. Does that means balloting will take place on that day? Can someone share how it works?

All schools will conduct balloting on 2 Aug
