@floppy yup. Wonder why did the admin decide to change the format? Also all the “old birds” like yourself don’t post much too. Moved to Facebook too?

RE: DSA 2025
Nothing to discuss. This forum is now a ghost town ever since they changed the layout and format. Compare DSA threads in the old forum where there were many posts and replies. People have migrated to the various Facebook groups.

Yes that is correct.
Hello,
We hv received a CO and a WL.
Ive read the previous posts on allocation of choices .
May I confirm, if my DD puts the WL as her first choice and CO as her second choice, she will be allocated her second choice ( the CO) for certain, if the WL is not converted?
Meaning, her CO is guaranteed if not superseded by a converted WL?
Thanks in advance . -

Congrats! Your DD is a very unique case. She applied DSA to different schools on different domains. Usually most students will apply to schools on the same domain, eg sports for all 3 schools, or music to 3 schools. Your daughter effectively applied via sports on one and arts on the other. She must be multi talented. Definitely an unconventional route. It would be interesting if during the interview the schools asked her which other schools she applied to and which domains. If they did indeed ask, it would be an interesting interview session between the school panel and your DD.
This was our first DSA journey. It has been a long one - it was partly fun, but also hard work, and definitely very distracting for the kid from proper studying! Happy that it's over after a lot of research, prep and anxiety.
My DD received 3 COs, from SOTA, SCGS (PA) and SNGS (Sports).
If any parent applying for DSA in the future would like advice, or would like me to share our experience, I'd be happy to do so in a private message. For now, I'll leave you with the message that interview prep is extremely important!
I can finally stop checking emails and KSparents for updates! All the best to everyone for the PSLE!
I assuming your DD (and you of course) will be having a very difficult time deciding which CO to rank as 1st choice as each are totally different from each other…. IB program vs sports vs PA. (I’m assuming you got IP for both SCGS & SNGS, and not one O levels and the other IP which would add further questions to your decision making process!) -

For ACS International and SJI International, do take note the school fees will be more than $35K per year.
#1 Actually, I have no idea what's the statistic for #1. How likely it is to get into IB (ACSI / SJI) via the SEC (O) track? How many slots are there available for SEC students since they already have their own IB 6 years track students? Where can we find the statistics?
Also, prob need to call up the local international schools to find out what's their criteria for joining IB in Year 11.
Lastly, would a SEC (O) track students have less advantage academically compared to those that join IB since year 1 in MGS/ASC/SJI since they would not have been exposed to the IB curriculum since Sec 1? Would they struggle in IB in year 5/6 compared to those who join in year 1?
#2 - all same domain (academic) -

For boys that DSA into ACS(I) track and field, do the boys need to do uniform group as well? Since Uniform group is a compulsory CCA in ACS(I).
If you have received two COs from Victoria and ACSI, consider whether IB or A-level curriculum, suits your son better -

Congrats to your DS. Definitely very matured at his age to be able to juggle his academics with his sports commitments and to do well in both. Not many kids can be at this level and he would surely be rated highly by schools wanting top hockey players. Do you mind sharing which was the other 2 schools that you applied to?
Yes, it's a long long journey with lots of hard work, effort, sweat and bruises. DS has to juggle academy and school training together with his studies. DS did not take up hockey for the seek of admission into top schools but it's his wish since P5 to try dsa into one of the top hockey powerhouse Sec school to continue his hockey journey.
We are still awaiting news from his 2 other choices before making the final decision. For those who are curious to know, DS P5 SA2 result was AL10. Math AL1, Sci and Eng AL2 and AL5 for MT. He has always been weak in his MT.
Wish all parents and children all the best on thier dsa journey! -

Are there any primary schools which has hockey as CCA?
Is your child also doing hockey in school? Or it's external training? -
