Based on another chat group member’s check with NTU, the WL offer will be released next week, pending NS disruption list confirmation.

Thanks a lot.
Many years after graduation, my doctor friends are still envying their dental surgeon friends for their work-life balance, getting off work on-time at regular hours and (far) better hourly pay. So that could be what it is if we think of life long-term.BetterDaysAhead\" post_id=\"2025466\" time=\"1622165526\" user_id=\"191803:
Any suggestion for choosing between Dentistry and Medicine, especially for girls?
A close contact applied to both NUS Medicine & Dentistry two years ago. In the end, he got the Med interview but was rejected by Dentistry even without an interview - he said the cut off point was higher for Dentistry. He’s so set on Dentistry, tried again and eventually got in!
Work-life balance (after graduation) is the primary consideration for my DD's decision.
My DS is in the final year of Med School, can feel his stress thinking about MO / Residency and the peer pressure / competition...
I guess dentist can plan their vacation better (short or long) than the GP as patient visits are by prior appointment. Dr need to specialize, only in their late 30s can have better work-life, I suppose. -

Thanks
Just my opinion , dentist has more work life balance than doctor in hospital. I do see doctors working beyond working hours even for senior consultants. I got to know a doctor who advise his daughter to be dentist.
Of course, the child must have interest too. -

Hope Dentistry will release tomorrow.
Someone posted on Reddit yesterday that he just got Medicine offer . But it was his second choice, Dentistry was his first . Seems likely he had to wait for Dent to “reject” him before Med could offerthree big pigs\" post_id=\"2023684\" time=\"1620792164\" user_id=\"192668:[quote=\"three big pigs\" post_id=2023684 time=1620792164 user_id=192668]Anyone received Dentistry admission?

I suppose it works exactly same as secondary / JC selection, except MED or Dentistry should be selected as 1st or 2nd choice...no 3rd or lower choice.
Just wondering if this means that whether one put medicine as first choice, only choice, 2nd, 3rd or even 4th choice does not matter (unlike secondary and JC selection where ranking of choice matters)? Logically, if one puts a course as a first choice, the person would be more keen to pursue it compared to his second choice. If a candidate is selected even though he might have put medicine as his second or third choice, then where do those who put medicine as their first and perhaps only choice stand, assuming that all were called up for interviews? Do candidates who put medicine as 2nd choice rank higher than those who are on the waiting list although the waiting list outcome is released before the 2nd choice outcome? Don't hope to offend anyone but just wondering how the system works.
Ranking is individual candidate's choice, which is independent of other candidates choice and should not to be compared. Uni offers seat depending on seats availability and candidate's suitability for the interviewed course. -

Hi, could i clarify on what the differences are? Which school offers more study and social time? Thank you.
You may also read Reddit post https://www.reddit.com/r/SGExams/comments/n866vl/uni_ntu_or_nus_medicine/ which is also mentioning about final year pass rate as well, but not sure.
It is better for individual students (lucky ones got the option to choose) to decide.
Those who got offer from only one school should be happy and grateful to the school offered them the choice to study medicine. -

We may get clarity on 10th or 11th May.
Anyone received rejection email for NUS med? We didn’t received any email so far and the status still showing “Processing”. Any advise on this ?
