Hi mummies.. I'm new here... my son gonna register for p1 this mid yr. I'm staying at Dover which fairfield is e ideal school. But it wil under phase 2C. But am afraid he can't get in due to high volume of registered pupils.


Henry park is another sch I'm looking at cos my husband was old boy from sch there which wil put us under phase 2A2, got higher chance getting in tt school :evil:
But transport to there is tedious

(1) is it single session?
(2) any CCA for P1?
(3) who do i check with whether there is school bus service from Katong to Henry Park?

DS is in P1 this year at HPPS. Since it's Phase 2C, I would suggest you go for bukit timah pri. Bcos bukit panjang pri would have balloting within 1km. At this point, I think that heart pounding experience is not worth, but this is my opinion.

It depends on whether you are 1km to any of these schools? If not less than 1km for Henry Park & Bukit Panjang, maybe difficult, but you can wait till last day to decide.... go to the schools to monitor the vacancy or call them ... see whether you have chance... ask them info like (less than 1km, between 1 - 2km, more than 2km - how many pple, then with that information, decide which one has highest probability)

I was actually doing some research on Bukit Timah Primary just earlier this month - one of my friend had her DS studying there for the first 3 years. According to her, the school has the most students qualifying for GEP every year - about 10 - 12 every year. The school exceeded her expectations and she said some of the teachers are very dedicated. Her DS managed to go to NYPS under GEP.

Today I went through the heart wrenching Phase 2B countdown to 4.30pm closing time- Happy to say that I managed to get my DS to HPPS!

Anyway, I wanted to ask about the golf CCA.....Do P1 kids go for it or is it from P3? Where do they go for training and how many times per week do they need to go? Is it fun or quite demanding?

Between 1km - 2km - 4 applicants (all SC i think)
Ballot for those more than 2km only

Oh than that is still not too bad.[/quote]Yes, overall it was not too bad. It was better than expectation, since there were only 12 places to begin with. When I was there, there were a couple of other parents who were there, waiting for 4.30pm to be over, and we were all so afraid that there will be pple coming in to register last minute. We were all very relieved when it was 4.31pm! Never knew time can past so slowly.... . Anyway, thank you to all that have answered all my numerous queries in this P1 registration.
