Of cos, you can! Start by doing simple zakka items for your child like his pillowcase. Jus measure his pillow then when u get the fabrics, cut accordingly then machine it. Simple! You can get the fabrics from Chinatown, de shops do carry cute prints & jus get 1/2 yard or 0.5 m. It's abt $12 per m.
Everyone have their own stories! I do not wan to ponder over wat happened! Jus enjoy every moments with your child! To be a SAHM is the most wonderful thing in life, though kids are devils!Ha!Ha!Ha!
I came across tis thread - Wat make a woman happy? I think de woman herself has to be happy 1st!
Enjoy, my dear! :celebrate:

My Dear, I do have my sobbing side!
I can tell u I was disliked by my father-in-law and the rest. Dun't ask me why? I also dun know leh! Is it bcos i'm too pretty/! Ha!Ha!Ha! Guess it's bcos most of them went to work after giving birth & I'm the only 'idle' one! or they jealous my hubby spoilt me rotten?! Wahhaha!:siao: (Pls forgive me! I'm nuts!!!)
Oh, Jap patchwork! Most of my themes are sweet and romantic prints! Sometimes, i made it as a gift or I sold it away as well as a sample to show it to my students, then they will be tempted to learn & i will be rich!! Hee! Hee! I sew & quilt every single projects by hand. I got the fabrics, zippers, laces everything from Jap. I do make quilts, bags, pouches, ..... I made my children pillowcases, bedspread, blankets, bags, pencil cases... whatever they asked for! They will choose the fabrics then i made them! In this way, my kids learnt to match colours. This helps when they are painting.
My hubby always nag this is a luxury hobby! Cos all the things I used, I got it from Jap! But to me, the satisfaction is there whenever I finished de project. -

RE: Any Mommies in mid-late 30s with teenages
Met my hubby at 19 then married at 23 lor! He is a businessman & I travelled with him all the time then both sides mummies felt tat we shld be tied down by de cert so ....!
I gave birth to my eldest gal the nxt year, She is healthy but tend to fall sick often during de 1st 3 years. I became a sahm to take care of her. It wasn't easy! I was still very young, to stay put at home can really kills me. In de 1st year, my hubby still has to travel often so most time i'm left alone with my
baby. I did suffer from post natal then but managed to pull through with my mummies help. After 1 year of factory closed, i gave birth to my 2nd girl. Believe me! Without the help of maids, I took care of them myself alone and I believed u know tat when 1 fall sick, the other one follows. So for the 1st few years, it was a nightmare! Luckily, my hubby stops being a superman. He stays put to help out.
Many of my kakis asked how can I stay home to look after my kids & worse still, without a maid. But if u ask me now, I will make de same decision again. Bonding with my kids & hubby is very important in our family. We want our kids to be positive & cheerful plus our marriage life is still very blissful. Cos I always believe if the parents are happy so do de kids!
Now tat my jewels are in sch, I do have more free time to engage in my passion, japanese patchwork. In de mrning, i will go teach my students & in the noon, I will still be \"Maria\"! Ha!Ha!Ha! Tat's my story! -

RE: Fernvale Primary
Thank you, Dear! We are trying to get more parents involved. Although it might seem to be a minor thing. But please, when it's our own kids in the pic then everything is necessary to ensure our child safety. Nobody wants to be a nasty parent! Let's wait and see if any measures is taken into consideration. Mus
real hard! Ha!Ha! -

RE: Fernvale Primary
Hello Littlegals!
Of cos, i share with you! Previously, we drove in & fetch our kids at the foyer after the sch bus left. But since last wed(11Aug, pouring cats & dogs), we had to park our cars at the HDB multi-storey carparks(blks away), then walk over to the side gate to pick the kids up. Let me know, if there is anyone out there willing to do so? So still, we parked along the roads, void decks & waited for our kids. Result - on tat day, most kids were drenched to the skin.
I reflected to the office but all I got was an impatient "thank you for feedback" answer. Finally, I managed to speak the VP & the reasons she gave was : Reason 1- drivers parked discriminately along the road and one child nearly got knocked down. Did she forget the side gate is along the road? If wat she said is true, why wasn’t letters issued to warn the parents? By closing the main gate only worsen the traffic condition & safety of the child. Reason 2 - Safety measures. Did she mean safety within the school compound or outside the school? Well, inside the school, YES! No cars except the teachers’. Outside, NO! Childrens and parents and other drivers! Till today, more cars waiting outside! Not to forget, she said we should pack raincoats and parasol in the school bag in case it rains. Hello, does she understand what she is saying?!
When I ask her, will the sch revise its decision? HAHA! She told me to wait for 1 Term and see how? OMG! Is it way too long to wait for her decision or she is incapable of making decision? I spoke to other parents, they too think the decision was a cartoon one! Some had given their feedbacks but …! Sigh! All we wan, was to drive in to pick up our kids then go off! Simple as ABC! Please advise! Thks. -
RE: Fernvale Primary
Hello all
Any parents from Fernvale Primary? Days ago, I gave my feedbacks to the school as well as to the VP but I guess I wasn’t taken seriously. Worst of all, I was told to wait and see! So what should I do now? WAIT till I ran out of patience or should i call the MOE for help? Please advise! Thks.
