You mean that rulang principle in green wood?XIAYU30001:
Me also stay in 51x, Woodgrove & Innova are within 1KM. Any advise which one is better?
I heard the principle is new from Lurang, is it making some diff?
First thing I see is 5a and 6a students get their air con class room and major upgrade is going on now. Not sure about the upgrades detail.
P5 sa papers are very difficult according to what my dd tutor told me. Well. Let see what's more to come.
What I understand is that the school is undergoing upgrading to add a 4-storey Indoor Sports Hall, as well as a new block with additional classrooms. Existing classrooms nearest to the construction area get air-con due to the noise level.

RE: Nanyang Girls' High School [*IP]
Thanks, VALyap & rains.
I called the sch before posting on KSparent. The person who answered told me can only try 1 sport (after asking around the office, so I thought she might not be very sure). -

Hi
hi, same here.erlisa:
Nice to see this forum thread.
I too plan to send my son to greenwood for 2012 intake. Any idea if any balloting required for 2011 pri intake. I see the intake details not updated, and pretty curious on what my chances are.
looks like GPS is getting popular, hope the chances of getting in isn't tough.
anyway, anybody know about the open house? or we can just walk in for enquiry anytime? weekend closed right?
thanks in advance and a great monday to all~!
I have not heard of any open house before. Maybe you can call the school and look for the Admin Manager (Ms Soh). She is very helpful and friendly. -

Oh, they can be on the same day. Different kids choose different CCAs, so not likely for teachers to fix lesson on day where everyone is free. The lesson (if any) is usually only once a week. Same for CCAs. For the upper primary (in morning session) - usually supplementary/ remedial (1+ to 3+) followed by CCAs (3+ to 5+).Hi DecJan
Thanks for your reply. I supposed CCA and supplementary/remedial classes do not fall on the same day, right? Otherwise the children will have a long day of lessons in school. -

Hi hxmum and raysusan
I've also heard mixed comments about Greenwood Primary. But I agree with raysusan that every schools has their good and bad.
Raysusan, can you pls share more on the teachers and the school?
BTW, I am also considering this school for my DS2, registering next yr. Just curious, sometimes when I happen to pass by the school around 8.00am, why are there students just entering the school ? Do the lower primary students (supposed to be in afternoon session) need to go to school so early for activities / classes?
Thanks.
Hi Hifive
lower primary students have the option of taking up CCAs (badminton, basketball, angklung, art club, choir, chinese dance, etc) which usually last from 8 to 10am. Supplementary/remedial lessons (if any) are usually from 10/10.30am to 12nn. -

Hi
Are we talking about Si Ling's principal, Mr Sivam Reddy? If so, he was my DS's ex-principal and he was from Greenwood Primary.

The principal was from Evergreen Primary. .........
Hi Linda,wamandas:
I have a daughter studying in Si Ling Primary School ........ and the principal is from Woodgrove Primary..........

I am planning for my son P1 in 2 years time. I stay in Woodlands. May I know more about Si Ling Primary School? Seems like the popularity is not high for this school. Do you have any idea why? Or do you find Si Ling is absolutely a good school? Thanks for your advice.
