      Hi

Iโ€™m a new shichida parent. Does anybody have homemade material to let go? Iโ€™m willing to purchase it at a good price. Kindly pm me and let me know.

    • RE: How to improve chinese of a preschooler

      Hi

I am having problems with my girl who is in nursery this year. She dislikes chinese and refuses to learn it. Part of the reason is lack of exposure to mandarin. Me speak some mandarin to her. My hubby speaks zero chinese. The grandmother speaks mostly english to her.

She is in berries since last year (pre nursery) and is attending kindergarten nursery now but chinese is still very bad, refuse to speak and cannot read chinese characters. Whenever i try to teach her chinese from the berries textbooks using stickers to entice her, she cannot sit still and run away immediately or slap the book from my hands.

Are there any parents here who face the same problems? How do u overcome it? I am afraid she will do badly for chinese in PSLE in future.

    • RE: Invisible Grille

      Hi again,

      Just to check.

When you guys do invisible grilles for your homes, do u install on the bathroom windows too? My friend did that for her house and she advised me to do so too. But my hubby thinks not necessary as the bathroom window is high, so unlikely the child can fall out.

      Thanks very much citymumto2

I just measured my 2 mth old baby forehead, almost 4 inches. So u are right that by the time they are crawling, they will be at least 4 inches

For me, i should be getting 3 inch for peace of mind. Definitely not 2 inch as it is for pets and cleaning of windows is too difficult when the gap is so small

From what i know, 2 ,3, 4 inches all meet the safety regulation.

      Citymumto2,

So 4 inch gap is ok for small children? 4 inch seems quite big.

    • RE: Invisible Grille

      Hi

Am thinking of doing invisible grilles with Le Gate for the safety of my small children, a baby and a 3 year old as i stay at high floor

The salesperson say there are 2 inch, 3 inch and 4 inch gap grilles.
      Which one should i choose?

I am installing grilles for all windows and we have no balcony.

      Thanks ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks all for your feedback and opinions ๐Ÿ™‚

In fact, a month back, I have made up my mind to go back to MBS to reduce the unnecessary hassle since im an ex-student there and now an alumni member.

You parents are right. The amount of time and effort spent on moving my child to another school is not worth it. This time could have been spent bonding with my child :rahrah:

    • RE: Comparing Chinese Enrichment (Primary/Preschool)

      Hihi

my daughter currently with berries N2, 4 this year. Im trying to speak more chinese to her but she is not interested and doesnt seem to understand. We come from english speaking family where everybody speaks mostly englishโ€ฆ

sigh. now im trying to speak more to her and read some very simple storybooks to her. Any other parent facing the same problem and how to improve her chinese? I am worried she will have problem catching up in primary one.

She is now in 3 hrs kindy. Will putting her in full day childcare a good idea since there is a chinese teacher to speak chinese to her all day?
