      Hi

Anyone waiting for PLMGSS and St Margaret's call for DSA?
I like your userID. Aren't we all parents similar?
Hope all who applied DSA will be given a chance for interview.

Oh, so I guess SJI is now shortlisting those from GEP or sports first.
Do update if anyone is shortlisted not based on GEP or sports.
      Thank you very much.

Dont think GEP receive anything

:scared: ...if GEP haven't receive anything, then mainstream lesser chance.
My DS is mainstream and tried applying to SJI. 🙏

SJI sent me an email this morning to clarify that the email sent is purely for sports trial (football). There is an IP selection panel that is also looking through his application and he may be called for an interview if they find that he meets their IP criteria. If he is not called for that interview, then he will remain in the O level path.

We too :celebrate: Just put 1 choice & say die die must go there, otherwise will opt out  Ya, DS2's classmates from all over the island but kids get used to it, just that they may sometimes feel very tired... mine gets up at 5.30 am and reach home 7.00 pm everyday, so after dinner, sleeps .... and yes, I definitely complain a lot about the distance 😉
Which school does he go to? Is it common for GEP curriculum to take up a whole day (even if its a different school)? Does he has time to complete any of his school work at home?

Er…to add on, make sure when you call the school, also check with them whether they have any plans to relocate anytime soon.

    • RE: All About Primary Schools' Balloting History

It seems more schools (those popular ones) are filling up their places earlier ie. before reaching 2C. 😞

SCGS seems to be getting more popular year after year... I hope there won't be any ballot for 2C 1km

i think part of the reason is this website. more people are better informed so more people know what to do. e.g. today's numbers for phase 2b are already higher than they have ever been before and still got one more day to go

I called SCGS and the voice recording states that 29 registered for Phase 2B, while only 48 places left for Phase 2C.

Based on past years' data, Phase 2C's within 1km registered children average about 54-59 number. If this year's Phase 2C is only 48 places, I guess there'll likely be balloting for within 1km. Really hope only 48 applicants are within 1km..then no need for balloting.

I am not sure your area, but chairman told me , at least 2 years for member and 2 years for obsever

That's incorrect. To be eligible for the letter that would entitle you to register your child in Phase 2B, the only qualification is that you need to have served as an \"Executive Member (EM)\" for at least one year. The thing is, you need to serve as an \"Observer\" for a period of time before you get \"promoted\" to become an EM. Some have been promoted within three months, others took longer, but the advice so far has been that you need to be fairly active AND not miss any meetings before you will be promoted to EM.

Sorry to hear that you volunteered but ultimately did not get the letter. Hope you have some backup plan apart from migrating to Australia.

For all who want to go the RC route, do check out this thread: http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=420

If serving as GRL is only for less than 1 year and Phase 2B is already over, will it be useful if the local MP writes a recommendation letter for Phase 2C?
