      Hi tianzhu,

Q1 the total of the two baskets is given as 960.
      Basket A has 600 while B has 360.

dont know y they test understanding of our language rather than being straight forward ... sigh

      Hi

First thing first, did you make any changes to the original question?

Do take note that 600 and 360 were not given in your original question. Please post the original question as it is shown in your source.

      1) mr tan had a total of 960 fruits. 30% of the 600[/u] fruits in basket A were oranges and the rest were pears. 40% of the fruits in basket B were pears and the rest were oranges. after some fruits were transferred from A to B and B to A, 25% of the fruits in basket A and 75% of the fruits in basket B were oranges. how many fruits are there in basket A in the end?

      Best wishes[/quote]

sorry just realised that the 600 was missing 😞

      Hi atutor2001 and tianzhu

Q2 the total number of boys and girls in classes A and B was 100% more than the total number of boys in the 2 classes. the ratio of the number of boys to the number of girls in class A was 2:3. the ratio of the number of boys to the number of girls in class B was 1:4. if there are 18 more boys in class A than B, how many pupils are there in Class A altogether?

Hi I need help for these questions:

      1) Tap A can fill up an empty tank in 20 minutes and Tap B can empty it the full tank completely in 12 minutes. Both taps were turned on at the same when the tank is 1/2 filled. how long does it take for the tank to be completely emptied?

2)Mrs Lim’s son helped her to type the page numbers of her new book. He noticed that different pages required different numbers of digits. He counted that there were a total of 675 digits. How many pages were there in the book?

      thank you in advance!!

      Hi HIPS mummies,

I'm newbie to HIPS network. My DR got in under P2C ballot too and we can have chance meeting on 16 Nov @ 2pm. ;o) Wondering can any mummies help me in the following questions?

      1) I read from a thread that one mummy quoted that \"unclear on timetable and not sure which book to bring along on the school day\" Has this been settled this Year?

      2) Any idea what is the charge for the school bus?

      3) Does the school provide remedial class for weak student on a weekly basis on adhoc basis?

      4) Do we need to purchase the shoe and socks from the school as well?

      5) Any recommendation on student care? I saw Morning Star and Graceland was quoted but I'm not too sure how good the centre are..

Can anyone up there do share, please.

Hi MathsGuru, could you help explain the solution for this question:

A group of girls played only 2 types of activities. 1/4 of them played skipping and 2/3 of them played catching. 1/6 of them played both and 90 girls did not play at all. How many girls were there altogether?
