I just cruised RC to Penang , Phuket
Lots of taxi in Penang - no need to worry , there are big cars mpv
U can bargain - Indian n Chinese Drivers
2hr to 4 hrs . Durian, shopping, Penang hill etc
We walked around ourselves in George Town , old - looks like our old time sungei rd
My aim was Penang char kueh Teow , dessert , tau star piah , 7 -11 gums , street art - durian similar price in Spore , I din try durian.
It is hot , we walked a lot , to the sea front where some historical building were n around George Town
Advise to take cab if travel with seniors

Wifi - got to buy cruise wifi , no regrets coz we were 4 nights in sea. Can watch movie streaming on line .
early morning before Penang n Phuket arrival - my hub used the SH happy roam , $3 a day for 1 Gb

Are u going Phuket ? U need to plan for Phuket coz the cruise only docked in Patong during nov period ( non monsoon ) else u join RC excursion or get a cab at Phuket pier to patong beach, elephant trek . We were more keen to see Phuket cape, shore line n patong beach plus Thai food .
