Hi,
My son is in his school badminton team. I would say that he has been playing actively playing Badminton for 3 years, at least twice a week.
However, I find that his school is not supporting Badminton.
During the recent West zone badminton competition, the kids do not even have a coach with them, they did the warmup themselves. No coach to guide or encourage them, just a school teacher to take care of them during the competition. All the rest of the schools have 1-2 Coach to monitor them, give advise, motivate them. There isn’t any training for them since mid Dec, no preparation for them at all for the competition.
Can anyone recommend a good coach for him (we staying at Bukit Panjang/ Choa chu kang area)?
Thank you.

RE: Comparing Chinese Enrichment (Primary/Preschool)
Hi,
My son has been with Huacheng for a Year. However, there isn’t much progress. Been working with him with his Chinese homework and revisions, but his foundation is not very good, hence his results is still quite disappointing.
Was thinking of changing to YUREN Tuition centre at Beauty World.
Any recommendations or reviews of YUREN? -
RE: Comparing English Enrichment Programmes

RE: All About Montessori
Thanks buds,
Yr rite, CS is the mos expensive. Was worried about the traffic jam at Bukit timah in the morning. If not, I may put my 5 yrs old there only.
I will visit Ismart again, to review their homework, they r quite new, not sure about their experience. The principal is an ex childcare teacher.
MMI at phoenix I would not recommend. My boy was there for 6 mths, pull him out immediately after seeing some teachers yelling at the kids. Son learn pinching also, hear frm other parents, they experience tis too. They seems to favour Indians too.
My boys are pretty independent, should not have a problem to adjust.
CS has quite a few classrooms now. The K1 and K2 are in one, pg and nursery in another room. 3rd for mandarin lessons. Student to teacher ratio was good. -
RE: [Bukit Panjang/Bukit Timah/Hillview] Preschools
Hi there,
Need help to select the preschools for my boys, age 3 and 5.
Have been viewing at least 10 centers already.
1. CS Montessori At Bukit timah plaza- very exp, but the K1 and k2 are doing p1 and p2 work already. very impressive.
2. Ismart Montessori at bangkit. Teachers are caring. Saw one boy refusing to learn spelling, teacher had to put him to another empty room to coach him, boy was whining. Hhmm… Tot the kids are quite discipline and independent. Not sure how r they academic wise. Any comments? Slightly cheaper then CS.
3. Agape children campus at cashew. Teachers are principal are nice and caring. It’s a full day cc. Non Aircon. Seems old from outside, but it’s quite clean and neat. Have own playground. Seems quite average academic wise. I maybe wrong, any comments?
Quite worried for my K1 boy, not learning much current church kiddy. Sure will struggle at P1.
Thanks for yr help. -
RE: All About Montessori
Hi,
Need some help to select the Montessori kindergarten for my boys, age 3 and 5 tis year. They are currently in a 3 hrs church kiddy. Not learning much, or sufficient enuff to prepare them for P1.
I have been scouting around over the past weeks:
1. Ismart Montessori at bangkit (Bukit panjang)- quite new, started in 2011. Teachers seems quite caring. Children will have 1 hr playtime with the Montessori tools. Once a week 30 mins outdoor play. Not sure about the academic part. Seems quite average. $1200 per term, Aircon.
2. CS Montessori at Bukit timah plaza- spoke to the teachers and seen the class work. Super impressive. The k1 and k2 are doing p1 work already, especially maths. But, very exp $1800 per term,Aircon. Class ratio smaller, maybe the fees too high.
I have been other centers. Phoenix is out, ichiban is out. Early learners is too far, no place for morning sessions too.
Any others recommendations? I stay around Bukit panjang, choa chu kang, upper Bukit timah area.
Many thanks -
