Hi,
Has anyone tried
https://integratedlistening.com/ssp-safe-sound-protocol/
According to website, it is a research-based therapy showing significant results in just five days in the following areas:
Social and emotional difficulties
Auditory sensitivities
Anxiety and trauma related challenges
Inattention
Stressors that impact social engagement
It appears that the research was originally on children with autism.
Thanks

RE: All About Autism
Hi all,
Thought that it’d be good to share about an event happening this coming Saturday Oct 27 which might be of interest.
A relative of mine was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 2 1/2. He was taken to a psychologist and was labelled as cognitively compromised. His parents were told that he would never be able to count and that they should focus on his life skills versus his academic future. He was non-verbal at the time. His parents pursued multiple therapies, some of which worked and some of which he did not respond to. His parents eventually took him to the United States where he was evaluated by Speech-Language Pathologist, Maria McNish. She started with oral motor therapy and used a variety of advanced treatment techniques to expand his vocabulary of single words. Those words were eventually combined into phrases and sentences.
He is now conversational and speaks and acts like a neurotypical child. He attends a mainstream school and is in the advanced class for Maths.
Maria, founder of Advanced Therapy of America, gave his parents the tools that they needed. Maria is coming to Singapore to speak on 27th Oct (Sat 9am).

Hi all, I suspect my child may have sensory processing disorder. I went to polyclinic to get a referral to NUH CDU at jurong. But they refer me to NUH child specialist first. I called in to check, the child specialist is general paediatric and not psychology specialist. I need to visit them first to get another referral to the NUH CDU. Anyone is in NUH CDU to advise me if you had gone through this route in order to see the NUH CDU? Because I don't wish to waste time going around. Hope to go there straight.
Hi Simply00123, I sent a PM to you. I don't know if the msg went through. If not, please PM me. -

Yes, it happened to my daughter 5 yrs ago. Her register # was one of the top few. A couple of girls were not prepared and they did it again some time later.Blue Pearl:
Can you please let me know whether this school will only give 3 days to prepare for show & tell (for lower pri) is this norm? thank you.
I was also wondering if it is norm for p1 students to have only one weekend to prepare for English show n tell. I find it rather ridiculous. -

RE: Fungus on study table
Han Seo:
Can I hijack this thread? I face similar problem but on the rubber lining of the fridge door. The rubber lining is lined with green and black substance (looks like fungus). Will the same solution work?
I don't think it'll be a permanent solution as the fridge door is in constant contact with water (condensation) and organic matter (your vegetables/meat) which will carry any mould or fungal spores. I guess can still wipe with vinegar but will need to do so regularly. Frequency is dependent on when you see them coming back. -

No. http://blacktoxicmolds.com/vinegar-kill-mold.php
:thankyou: do I need to dilute the vinegar? -
RE: Fungus on study table
kitty2:
Anywhere which sells essential oils or aromatherapy. But try the vinegar mixture as suggested; it's cheaper, works as well most of the time. Also, helps if you put your table near where it's sunny & less humid.
:thankyou: Where to get the above oil? :udawoman:guppy:
If the vinegar mixture doesn't work, try tea tree oil or palmarosa oil. http://www.ehow.com/how_4549129_make-ecofriendly-mold-killer-bleach.html
I had similar problem and as of today (about 4 mths), no mould/fungus has appeared on my teak bedside table.
Good luck.
