My son got into Commonwealth Sec with cop 237. Email came at 6.06 am. His first choice.

This comes in so timely. My son going to Sec 1 next year, and he is trying to find out more about Lit, and whether he should go for it in addition to studying Science which is his favourite subject. Pretty good in Science, but not so good in Maths though. Now we have some clue what it entails. Thanks.

If the route is to go to Poly, there is no need to do HMT at \"O\" levels. Just normal MT is enough. Is this correct?


When in Poly, for those who did not offer HMT in \"O\" level - are they required to study Chinese in Poly? Don't know how things work in Poly. :?:

My boy scored 237, wants to go to SJI for its "moral character" building, but the COP proves too high to reach.
Is there any similar "character" school which we can try?

I noticed that MSH is within Mt Vernon area - the place for funeral. Can anyone share if the procession/mourning - can it be seen by students who are coming/leaving school?

I just gathered from a school teacher that Fairfield - she don’t really recommend. She didn’t elaborate, just mentioned that the points bet affiliated & non affiliated too wide.
She said Gan Eng Sen can try. But I hv seen some students from tis school like not very happy. Is this important point to note?
My son met a fellow scout from CTSS. The friend is happy-go-lucky type, but really can’t rely on tis to make a choice? He is now studying at JC. I think the JC is Anderson if recall correctly.

My son just finished PSLE, waiting for results. We are thinking of following schools:


1. Jurong Secondary
2. Commonwealth Sec
3. Clementi Town Sec
4. Fu Hua Sec
5. Queensway Sec
6. Gan Eng Seng

Can someone please help to enlighten on the culture in these schools? My son comes from a neighborhood school, and likes his school and his friends so much. It would be nice to find another happy school, and one that also excels academically, and professionally.
