I feel that my colleague sugestion is more for parents that have teenager or maybe higher primary school like primary 5 or 6 to prevent them to visit pron site or web chatting etc… which is dangerous. The sugestion is just another tactic that parents can consider.

I agree that it took lot of time and frustration to clear virus but if the intension is to prevent viruse and spyware than I think installing anti-virus software should be enough.

One of my colleague told me that what he does to prevent his children to surf unwanted website is he placed his computer at the living room. So that indirectly they are being monitored and they will try to restrict themselves for surfing illegal web site. I feel that it is a good tactic that parent can consider this will prevent your child accuse you for intruding their privacy or not trusting them if they found out that you installed software to monitor their surfing activities.

I also find that primary school maths are more difficult and tricky than our time. The method they used are different, for example primary school they used number bond to teach add and subtract. However we should still be able to teach them after reading their text book. The Challenge is how to make them understand math concept espeically to those lower primary school students.

Teachers asked parents to provide more story books for the kids to let them read everyday. I'm not sure what kinds of books are good for P1's reading, I hope I can get some recommandation from Kiasu parents.

We were brieft by my daugther school English HOD about this STELLA program. They used big book to teach grammar and phonic etc...
and we were given a list of grammar and volcab for us to prepare our kids for the test. Those assessment books that sell at the book store have a different topic therefore not able to let her practised. I would only depend on the school worksheet to teach my daughter. My daugther also have silent reading everyday this is to cultivate them reading habbit not so much on STELLA program
