smileplease:jeant:Hi joy2,
I am not sure why the tuition teacher said that. She said this when we showed her the science prelim papers after we got it back from the school.
She mentioned that the questions set were not really focusing on what the usual psle papers will have. No \"2 in 1\" questions too.
I am not very sure of how an exam paper will usually set as. I normally purchase, revise and discuss past year exam papers with my DDs as well as sending them for tuition, so that they can catch up with their studies.
I am a Maths tutor and i can understand what your tutor is saying. It goes the same for Maths PSLE papers. The 5 marks questions are always in 2 parts, like part a is 2 marks and part b is 3 marks for PSLE Math paper. There is never a question in PSLE Maths paper that just set it as 5 marks but a lot of top schools like to set 1 or 2 question in Paper 2 solely 5 marks question. It puzzles me too.
So normally i will let my students do PSLE papers than top school papers starting from January once i can buy it from Popular bookstore. For Maths PSLE papers, it is always sold out by June of the year so grab a copy asap if you want. Actually school will ask the students to buy a copy from school's bookshop but their teacher only ask them to do from July onwards.
:thankyou: for enlightening me.
Yes. Will start buying PSLE papers from Popular next year Jan onwards. Got to let me younger DD start practising.
I wish all the best to all parents of PSLE students.
