Ya, the previous 2B was not as intense. Those were the days on the SJIJ and IJTP. πŸ˜„
Yeah, the SJIJ boy is doing PSLE this year! How time flies...

Looks like some 1-2km folks got caught. Some didn't withdraw for some reasons. With this info, odds for the <1km for 2C seems better.
Hmmm all depends on the final # of under 1km folks balloting at the end of today.

I'm finally done with this P1 registration, got to use my only Phase 1 chance this time for my monkey girl. Luckily I have a Phase 1 to bang on else I would have been 1 of the 30 balloting for 27 vacancies in 2B πŸ˜“

Thanks Lexy. For 2B this year there were 40 applicants for 27 vacancies.
Someone called to check and it was 30 applicants vying for 27 vacancies, the other 10...probably did not withdraw.

What are the chances for CHIJ Toa Payoh for someone living within 1km to get in? Do you think there will be a ballot for those living within 1km?

Currently it's 82 applicants for 54 vacancies. Last year for phase 2C it was 49 applicants for 35 vacancies.
IJTP will ballot under 1km at 2C. Not very surprising, it has always gone to ballot under 1km at 2C.

thanks for the advice.. Will do some homework and see which schools still have vacancies..

Go check MOE P1 Registration website this evening to see the list of schools that still have vacancies. You can do your homework then and plan accordingly.

If you are still unsure which school to go for, post your queries here. Am sure that there are many helpful KiasuGrandmasters who can offer you good advice. πŸ˜‰

      Hang in there! :rahrah:

MOE website already updated with 2Cs vacancies:

I get what you are saying. My turn will come next year. Right now, I can see a lot of loopholes. Certainly, the parent that's camping at the school will have a greater advantage than the one sitting at home and praying someone will give out the numbers πŸ˜‚

I won't call it a loophole per se.
The more hardworking parents have an advantage, which is to be expected. It's not just about last minute camping at the school - from understanding the various phases and how it works, advance planning for Phase 2A (joining the alumni association), Phase 2B (joining the clan / PV / GRL), all these require 'hardwork' and advance planning.

I would call it playing by the rules and maximizing what you can get out of it without breaking an arm and leg.

      Congratulations!

You made it! Last sjij, this year ijtp. Good planning. Also you play it fair and openly. Got guts πŸ˜‚

Thanks Lexy, you remembered! Yes worth my gamble to give up NYPS for both the 2B attempts.

Actually my hubs did asked if we should try NYPS for 2A(2) last week; I told him don't waste time lah plus if she gets in then my whole school run logistics goes haywire. I did tell him if he misses this whole P1 registration; he can try again in 5 years' time for my youngest girl! πŸ˜›

      Of course I remembered. πŸ˜„

Somehow everything fall nicely for you. 2A2 NYPS doesn't seem possible unless you shift, of course you can do 2A1 but that's not the point. The main thing is you know exactly what you want and plan it out and stick to the plan. Kudos!

Tell your husband to apply phase 1, then withdraw and apply 2a2,ballot fail then apply 2b again, if cannot get, can proceed with your 2c choice. One full cycle for him to play. :frustrated: πŸ˜†

Give thanks to the one above who keep watch over you and your family.[/quote]Yes God is good! Amen!

We both knew NYPS 2A(2) was out; he said just try; you never know? I said don't waste time; later if she gets in then we have to make additional trip to withdraw and besides; the girl has decided she wants IJTP!

Oh no 2A(1) for NYPS too cos I don't wanna pay that $1k!

Haha in 5 years' time if he misses it; it he can go and do the withdrawal after Phase 1; try 2A(2); fail, then 2B at IJTP; fail, we can try 2C again cos we are <1km! But I'm pretty sure come then he won't want to go through all the trouble! πŸ˜›

Update for IJTP as of 1710 day 2 of Phase 2B:

      IJTP:
      Vacancies: 39 (1 withdrew)
      <1km: 18
      1-2km: 10
      >2km: 29

Balloting for >2km - 29 ballot for remaining 11 vacancies

My girl's in; and I'm so done with this P1 registration thing, it's Phase 1 in 5 years' time for my younger girl; after having to do 2 P1 registration 2 years in a row!

      Congratulations!
