Is it written anywhere on moe website where the most intense \"wars\" are happening or is the only way to find out by calling up the school or heading down personally?

Like for eg, St Hilda's balloting is for which category <1Km / 1-2 / >2KM and how many people are fighting over how many slots?

MOE website doesn't provide breakdown on the registration numbers. You have to call or be at the school to find out.

That said, for popular schools like St Hilda, you can safely assume everyone who registered is a SC living within 1km. Don't be surprised if some schools turn away or reject application from parents living > 1km.

That's what I thought so too which means to say there's asymmetric information at play and the more hardworking parents will have some advantage.

There is a website showing which distance category will undergo balloting, which MOE is supposed to update soon (hopefully today): https://www.moe.gov.sg/admissions/primary-one-registration/balloting

But there is no indication what are the odds. If you were not on the ground at 4.30pm yesterday, it's unlikely your competitors will tell you. It's also not nice to keep bugging the school. But you can try to find out the balloting date and time and location, if you want to be present. Otherwise, there's nothing much you can do except wait and wait and wait for the hard copy letter informing you of the outcome. We try our best to help on KSP but no one is obliged to answer your qns really.

Somehow this year’s thread is really really quiet compared to past years. Parents are not sharing information readily which was the intention of the forum actually.

I get what you are saying. My turn will come next year. Right now, I can see a lot of loopholes. Certainly, the parent that's camping at the school will have a greater advantage than the one sitting at home and praying someone will give out the numbers πŸ˜‚

Second day breakdown they did not put up at all. Last heard is 28 applicants within 1km for 2nd day of 2B. Calling them doesn't help too 😞

Hope this helps and good luck to all!

Does anyone have the breakdown for Ai Tong? They have 6 oversubscribers, any idea if there is any chance for the school to absorb these 6?

I won't call it a loophole per se.
The more hardworking parents have an advantage, which is to be expected. It's not just about last minute camping at the school - from understanding the various phases and how it works, advance planning for Phase 2A (joining the alumni association), Phase 2B (joining the clan / PV / GRL), all these require 'hardwork' and advance planning.

I would call it playing by the rules and maximizing what you can get out of it without breaking an arm and leg.
