Is there such subject combination as AEP student with CLEP? Both are elective programs. Do they clash? Both should b pretty rigourous right, like taken at H2 level?

In my opinion, this is not possible as both will be \"upgraded\" to h3 in j2. In addition, the activities conducted for these two elective programmes may clash (e.g. overseas trip). In addition, the timetable will not be possible as both programme's lessons also start around late afternoon. Considering the rigour of both programmes, only one should be chosen.

      phtthp:
hearsay that St Nick (IP) Teachers don't teach much, because IP uses a different pedagogy.

      Is this True ?

Can IP students (year 1 to year 4) shed light on how are you all taught in class, the method practised / adopted by the IP Teachers here, for subjects like Maths and Sciences ? Thank You
While I am an O-level student, I often hear from my friends in the IP track about their lessons.
So firstly, their Eng lessons are often filled with more speech delivery then O-level classes (there are certain teachers who request for their students to do impromptu speeches regularly whether olevel or ip). Another thing is they have this thing called the Socratic circle which imo is rather complicated.
For the rest, I am aware that the IP exam papers and subj content are usually more advanced and harder than olevel students.
Of course, the teachers are mostly caring and are always willing to arrange consultations for weaker students (which is like free tuition) since students are usually more used to their teacher's teaching style since a teacher teaches them every day.

at Sec (3 & 4) here in St Nick Sec -

between History & Geography, these 2 subjects :
more students tend to or prefer to take History or Geog ?
which subject, is easier to study or handle ?

      Thanks, for feedback.
      Appreciated
For 2017 S4 batch this year, only 10 took full history as compared to around 50-75 students took full geography. IMO, more people would prefer geog as it is more applicable to our own lives, full history is known to be rather difficult as you would need to memorise 4 books as opposed to 2 books for elect-hist. Of course, full geog is not easy too. Honestly, both requires a lot of memory work and at the end of the day, it is up to a person's interest (which is usually geog)

      Hi,

      a)
can the IP students here share how intensive & rigorous is the the IP curriculum, starting from Y1 upto Y4, leading up to Eunoia JC ?
      (Y1 : Year 1)

      b)
After EOY, at end of Sec 2 (Y2) :-
roughly, per batch : how many students from the IP track request for transfer back to O level track ?

vacancies are created : once an IP student managed to transfer successfully to O level track.

roughly, per batch : how many students from the O level track have been \"invited\" by school, to transfer to IP track ?

(EOY : End of Year SA2 exam)
      (b) From what I know, at least for the graduating batch this year, there were around 2-3 who transferred to O-level

      (c) I believe around 10-15 students (perhaps more/less) were invited (not very sure about the actual no. ) However, as far as I know, there was most probably no one who wanted to transfer in the end

SLPS to me is a pretty good school. Most of the teachers there are very caring and friendly. My child enjoy her time there. For her year (not too long ago), her class mostly get 230-270 because she is in the top class. I think if your child is studious with the teacher's help sure no prob. Only thing is i feel that their revision for psle not that much, might need to buy ur own assessment book. But overall my child like the environment and progressing well after she graduated. I recommend the school especially after the new principal came I heard many good changes were made šŸ™‚ for the inhouse student care, my child personally don't like, i think the dedicated student care not more than 2 mins walk away is a much better choice, all students who go there end up especially good in maths and science. They even give a lot of practise to help your child and have a lot of activities ^^

This year affiliation COP is 230 not 220. Psle is already over for morn than 2 months, all the girls already head start for their sec school life on the first week of the Jan. now everyone start to adopt sec life at Sngs regardless your psle score.

So is it true that the girls will learn O level topics even in S1? IMO, transition into sec sch curriculum is already quite tough by itself. How much more tougher it must be to learn the upper sec, i.e. O level topics. 🤷

That is what I heard recently. I was pretty shocked too. My dd sch did start their pupils on O level content but it was to a small extent. They were more involved in lower sec subjects including art, music, home econ, D&T and non-academic enrichment programs. There's no time for heavy O level topics.[/quote]In lower secondary, we learned slightly in depth 3/4 of the olevel chapters for chemistry depends on the teacher though for biology not that much many complicated topics thought in upper secondary. For literature its diff. Book every year.

      I have same queries too.

      Innova, woodgrove and qihua...any reviews?
woodgrove no student care...ftwm which student care u send?
Uh...I studied in Si Ling primary so just let you know more and for future visitor haha šŸ˜‰ Si Ling primary is actually pretty good. Teachers are mostly caring and patient but the best teachers used in primary 6 can sometimes be strict and a few in other levels. Before I graduated, I believe there was still a student care in the school but instead might as well send to dedicated student care. My friends who were there are pretty strong in Maths and science as they give them practise everyday. Hope that helped you although you have probably chosen the school already... ^^

Anyone knows how is the performance of their ip students so far? Anyone being transfer to o level class or retain? Are the ip students more stressful than the o level students?

Hi, the perfomance of IP students are usually very good with the minimum passing grade a 60 for avg. of all subjects combined. Most get As and Bs. I don't actually think anyone gets retained but there may be 1 or 2 but rarely. The IP are definitely more stressful than olevel as they learn more things and humanities(I think) exam papers are combined with Catholic high and Singapore Chinese girls' so all of them take the same paper.
