Gina taught in school for 7 years n has been teaching at blk 625 jurong west for more than 11 years with hundreds of students graduating from her programmes. She is NIE-trained n has a master degree from university of sheffield in education n the University specialises in its MEd programme. I am not sure if there are any more qualified tutors out there charging $115-140/ month for eight 1.5hr lessons. I can't speak for other private centres but I know those at shopping malls pay high rentals which tend to equate to high fees but high fees doesn't necessarily mean better quality teaching.

I had enroll my son at Windsor for English & Chinese Creative Writing. I had been looking around too and find this most suitable. It is not a big class like others like Jurong Pt or Froniter. Their worksheets is very similar to those taught in school. Before exam, they do go through oral practice too.[/quote]

If you live in bukit panjang, you can enrol your child in the phonics & reading/ reading & comprehension class at blk 630 senja rd. Programme is conducted by an ex-CHIJ school teacher with a Master Degree in Education at only $65 a month with no additional material/registration fee.
