Hello, would like to ask more experienced parents, after ballet exam, are all that passed got medal? Or just like successful or outstanding ones? I saw in the RAD site got medal and cert but not sure if it is a standard practice.

Just an alternative option, you may consider ortho-k lens, worn at night when sleeping. The next day the child got freedom to do anything with perfect eyesight and no burden of glasses or contact lenses.
Hi, I am trying to help my highly myopic child choose a primary CCA - some recommendations have been around (given the interest of the child) - floorball, netball, etc. sports that use the eyes. Others have been to go with activities that expose one to sunlight. Any thoughts / recommendations anyone? Many thanks in advance.
My child has been doing it mainly for myopia control and it has been a very satisfying experience for us this past year. We also do regular biyearly consultation with opthalmologist which is totally unrelated to the ortho k provider and confirm our child eyes health.
Just a caution that need to choose a certified and reputable provider for ortho k, not just any optometrist can do.
All the best for your child :). -
RE: All About Ballet
What do you think of extra ballet lessons at young age (5-10yo), my child is interested in taking the extra class but it will make it 3 ballet classes per week, including the coaching class. I do not wish for my child to be a professional ballerina but want to support her, even if it’s just a hobby for her.
My concern is, is 3 ballet classes per week doable in primary school years? Does primary school gives a lot of homeworks and other activities? -

Hi sorry I just replied your PM. We started already and so far so good. I help my kid to put in and take out the lenses as still very young. TBH first time was so hard. I cajoled, promised rewards etc until the kid willing to cooperate.
Have your kid started? How’s everything going? -

0.025 is still alright. How old is your child?
You can consider myopia control eyeglasses in addition to the atropine treatment as well. So far for my patients, the myopia control glasses seems to yield very good results. (Personally speaking). Of course, the child's lifestyle habits play a big part as well.
Thanks icechendol. My gal is only 6yo plus. We did consider control eyeglasses. But finally decided on ortho K. It’s been 6months and so far so good. I hope it really works. 🙏 -

Try this? Usually my daughter will bun on her own, but during the graded exams her teacher will help to make sure it is secured.[/quote]

Any idea how to do ballet bun for exam? I always bun her hair for normal classes but not sure if exam will have some standard. The teacher has said parents need to bun and not the teacher. Please help if you have any idea.

RE: All About Ortho-K
My child is 6 and is starting soon. I heard they handled as young as 4! But some conditions need to be met and parents must be extra dedicated and disciplined.

Thanks. Atropine really doesn’t work. We are just starting the higher dose 0.025 now. But will consider OK lens 😓. Very limited screentime now, but the child likes reading.
Yes, they prey on the love parents have for their children..
Kaori1, atropine is one way, you can double up by fitting the child with myopic control spectacle lenses in future as well :).
Sometimes, children don't respond well to atropine. Ultimately is the lifestyle habits. So please try to limit their screen time and try to go outdoors more.
