May I ask also if taking a double degree will incur extra course fee? Is the value of the second degree same as those who take it as first degree? For example a econ student taking accountancy as a second degree, so can he be an accountant or auditor like the other graduates with accountancy only?

Reminder : NUS Open House this Sat only.

Noted with thanks and will \"report\" accordingly.

May I ask if you are a parent of student?

Is it common for parents to follow to the open house at this age of them?
Do parents still be involved in the course selection? Or, how parents should be involved?

Anyone know if there is a one single website for 2014-A level students to apply to all local uni? Or do they have to apply to the individual local uni separately at their website?

Application is done seperately to each uni. But when you accept the course, it is a joint-admission. Meaning that there will be one central website to go to in order to accept or reject an offer. Once you accept an offer from say, NUS, your other offers from NTU and SMU will be withdrawn in order to give a chance to other applicants. So no one student can chope 3 places for a long time.

Thank you. Can one who have accepted a course this year change his mind and apply again for another course next year using this year result?
BitterSweet, do you know how many students receive the MOE Pre U scholarships in a year?

I actually don't know, because people are so competitive, don't really dare to ask around or 'boast' if they got it. I know that of my close friends who were invited to the interview (about 15, most of them with great grades and other achievements, some O-level and some IP), none got the scholarship except me (further proving importance of the interview, I guess)

I think not many get, but I cannot give an estimate because i really don't know.

Thanks for the sharing. My ds1 is one year your senior and he got the scholarship, I was curious if it was awarded to many.
The MOE website indicate 750 is to supplement school fee subject to a cap of 2400. so for those already receiving EESIS, can it still be used to pay the balance, the remaining cash out?

I got a C5 for HMT :yikes: but plan to enter yllsom, will this C5 then affect my chances of getting in and will this also cause me to be prejudiced against people who score better than me in HMT but score the same with me in the other subjects for A levels?

HMT score doesn't matter much in your application to yllsom. What's more important is how you do in the interviews once you've made it to that round.

Will it affect getting scholarship then?
