    • RE: Choosing and Evaluating Primary Schools

      Champion:
Chongfu School is at Yishun Avenue 6 whereas

Jurong Pri School is at Jurong East Street 32.

So, what are your consideration factors?

I just moved house from Yishun to Bukit Batok. I have a girl who is now in Chongfu and personally I'm quite pleased with the school teachings. The students are well-behaved and studious.

I have a younger boy so I'm contemplating whether we should put him in Chongfu or Jurong Pri (my former sch).

Princess Elizabeth & Keming in Bukit Batok are both more than 1KM from my new home. So it seems almost impossible to secure a place there.

And really dread the idea of having to go through balloting again...

      What's your opinion ?

Personally, I have no idea how's the standard of Jurong Pri. now.

    • RE: JEI/PSLE Math - Discussion

Just to share with parents here – not much homework, eg. my girl only has 1 problem sum question for homework last week.

But not sure is it due to the speed of the student… probably my girl finish work faster in class, so less homework ; P

      24hr-mum:
my gal got 65 for math p4 ca1. used to b 80-95. is it common to drop so much?

My personal opinion is the drop should not be so much. Basically, for CA1, they are still testing alot on Whole Numbers and the concept is the same except the number gets bigger.

Is your gal tested on Fraction for CA1 ? If yes, then I would say a drop is still acceptable since new topics are tested.

Thanks kitty! So, does your DD like the lessons at JEI so far?[/quote]

Negative comments was she say cannot chit chat with others because of the small classsize .
Positive comments , the teacher was quite patient in explaining. So far so good .

I enquire about the sbw branch last year and I was told it’s almost impossible to get a seat because there are hardly any withdrawal of existing students .

Was told that the trainer was ex-teacher.

      Just for my curiosity…

RGS & NYGH will accept all application for their GAT ? Or will they look at P5 & P6 results before deciding whether the child will be given a chance for the GAT ?
