There will always be CCAs that are more "on" and those that are more "slack". And for sports, there is competition season, so training is intensified around the season. I think the choice of CCA is very important. The child must like it and enjoy spending time in that activity. My son loves his CCA (which is a surprise to me). He is in the Exco and is given leadership responsibilities to organise things and train his juniors. I am very happy see him grow this way and I think these are important life skills he needs, not just the academics.
I am not sure if his teacher is strict. But I see it more like a student led CCA, teachers doing the adult admin and liaising.

RE: Raffles Institution (Year 1-4)
What is the mean GPA for Year 3? It seems like many kids’ GPA dropped a lot from Yr 2 to Yr 3, perhaps due to the big change in number of subjects and depth of the subjects. What is the mean GPA, and what is considered a good GPA for Year 3?

Any yr 3 parents here given the option for term 3 boarding? It used to be compulsory unless you have special reasons. Now it is voluntary opt in i believe due to limited spaces. I am wondering what if after opt in it is still over subscribed. How will the school decide?

RE: Raffles Institution (Year 1-4)
I remember in Yr 2 I could choose 3 teachers to see, and it was in the afternoon up to 630pm.
Oh on the letter, it is stated that there are some changes this year as they want to focus the discussion on the wholistic development of your child instead of simply his academic grades… Also, the child has to be there. -

Do you find this year’s PTM to be very restrictive? My son is in Yr 3. We can only meet the form teacher and the time is 8am to 1245pm.

I planned for the middle 2 weeks. For my son, CCA camps for the first week and OBS for the last week. Then he is off to boarding in Term 3.

Can anyone share the RI Prefect (Yr 2 and 3) selection timeline, and if selected, the subsequent training/camps?
I am interested, in particular, in the commitment in June holidays.
Thanks in advance! -
