RE: Appeal Secondary One Posting
Thanks jtoh and Pen88n, very sound advice. Bfore start of school, I’d at least buy a set of school uniform and compare the booklist and get some of the common books. I hope that we can be notified early as we are off by COP 1 pt only. Really hope to settle him the earliest we can.

RE: Appeal Secondary One Posting
I was told that we should inform the school we are reporting to that we are appealing to another school then we need not buy school books and school shoes.
But my concern is wont the kid be very odd to report to the school on 3 jan wearing its primary school uniform ? Will he feel outcast ? The school I talked to said it is quite common so there is nothing to be alarmed, but I’m still a bit worried. Can parents who has done this be able to advise what’s it like and whether the child will feel outcast, or it is a common sight and hence nothing special. -
RE: 2011 PSLE - Appeal for Sec School
Anyone can advise the process of appeal and when that happens?

RE: Which school is better for COP 210-230?
I also need help to assess the schools in the east for 210 to 230 for my son.
The following are the possible schools based on cutoff point
1) Bedok View 218
2) St Patrick 223
3) Geylang Methodist 220
4) Bedok South 211
For item 2 and 3, i could not determine the banding from the MOE award table for express in spite of its higher cutoff point. does it mean that the O level results are beyond 9 ?
Any feedback on the schools will be appreciate or if there are any better schools I miss. -
RE: Secondary School Open House 2011
Info on Chung Cheng Main is useful, I didnt realise it is affiliated to Nanyang JC and its music elective program. For those considering Ching Cheng main, u may wish to take a look at Tanjong Katong Secondary as well. Both schools cutoff point are in the 23X region and their location is close but TKSS has consistently been Band 2 for O levels. Chung Cheng Main has been band 3 until the recent 2010 results. So TKSS has better consistent track record. I’d have to think carefully between the 2.

Hi Brenda,Brenda10:
[quote=\"Tinkerbelle\"]Hi Brenda,
Which sch are you planning on visiting on 19 Nov? Did you manage to go to DHS open house?
Oh ya, PSLE results will be out on 24 Nov...that explains why most of the schs' open house will be conducted on the 26 Nov.
Hi Tinkerbelle,
We will visit Chung Cheng High (main).
This school is an Autonomous school and affiliated to Nanyang Junior College. All Sec 1 will be taking HCL next year and walking distance from Dakota MRT.
Also, they have Music Special Programme (Enhanced Music Programme)
Information extracted from their website:
MOE announced on 23 September 2010 that as part of its push for the nurturing of more talents in art and music, it will introduce the Enhanced Music Programme (EMP). From January 2011, Chung Cheng High School (Main) will be launching its own Enhanced Music Programme (EMP) as well as an in-house preparatory programme for Secondary One students.
Yes, we went to DHS opening house at May this year.
Haha, I also think that is a reason and also will expect big crowd on that day.
Chung Cheng High (main) sounds good. Has an affiliated JC (2 bounus point) and HMTL (another 2 bonus points). Saw in the Sec Sch Guide Book that they have a 6-week Immersion Prog in Fudan University. Sounds impressive!
I have told one of my friends about their open house. She's interested to attend too. Thanks for your input.

RE: Looking for better 2nd & 3rd tier Secondary Schools
HI Does anybody have an opinion of St Patrick’s School.
I’m shortlisting the list of east schools in the 22X region just in case my son gets T-scores around that. -
RE: Looking for better 2nd & 3rd tier Secondary Schools
Is somebody able to advise why there r only 68 expess schools in 2010 in the chart when there r clearly more express schools than that? Where do we find express banding of the schools not listed here ?
