Mamo:
Thanks, VC. Where did you fish out the info? Maybe we can fish it ourselves if it can be found on the web.
Hi Mamo,
You can get the info from MOE's website:

My no.3 is currently in p6. He has DSA offer to CHS, but under Chinese Orchestra. I was the one who made that comment on DSA(mostly for sports) on the DSA thread that you asked about earlier today. With DSA, the minimum to make good DSA offer is that for Express Stream (200). Same with all other schools.Hi,
Anyone with kids in CHS? I have a question on DSA but when I read through the DSA thread, its all on the Raffles family, NYGH, HCI etc. I wanted to know more about CHS instead.
Is it very difficult to get DSA to CHS via music (not chinese orchestra) but piano or concert band? Read someone mentioned that at most they only offer 30 places via DSA and mostly for sports? If have DSA then what is the minimum score for PSLE?
I know some of these so-call 2nd & 3rd tier schools also offer DSA, so parents should not think that DSA is only for the TOP schools. If your kids can DSA into these schools, its also good.
From my observation, for past 3 years, CHS has offered DSA only for Sports & Chinese Orchestra, although in the years before, they also had DSA for Modern Dance and even Band for some years, but not in the last 3 years, that's all. I'm not sure if there'd be any DSA under band for the next few years or under MEP(which is where your \"piano\" would fall under, I think). That depends on the school. The criteria may or may not change with the new IP status from 2013. Perhaps they will just have a separate IP DSA like Victoria school did this year (VS didn't have any other DSA domain other than for sports & IP). And if the domain for DSA is not put up by the school, don't think we can apply, since on the application form, there is no \"Others\" even - you just have to tick either of the domain options listed on the form (Sports or Chinese Orchestra) - for this year, lah.
This is the webpage for CHS DSA this year, if you want to refer.

I can't comment about how CHS secondary is run though, since i don't have any boys in the secondary section (altho' 2 of our boys were/are in the primary section). Can't be too bad, that's all I can say. -
Pen88n:
Pen88n, fyi, Chung Cheng Yishun (formerly known as Chung Cheng Branch)was moved from its old site to Yishun in the mid of 2006. during the old days of Branch, its COP was around 220+only, but in the year of its new campus relocating to Yishun, its COP was suddenly increased around 10 points! CCH Yishun has attracted many 230+ students in the north area since then. if i remember correctly, the COP of its first batch at the new campus (year 2007 batch taking PSLE in Oct 2006) was 234. it was this first batch with the higher COP acthieving a Band 3 in Olevel 2010. i believe this was one reason of its improvement jump from Band 6 to Band 3, not just by luck. you have also noticed its trend in these years. i am so clear abt its history because i was also interested in this school 4 years ago.Mamo, fyi, Chung Cheng Yishun is listed as a band 3 school in the 2012 S1 posting booklet. If you have the 2011 S1 posting booklet, it is listed as band 6 in there.
It can be something they are doing right that results in such a big improvement jump, or it can also be just pure lucky like spotting the right topic / questions (not trying to be skeptical but it is anyone's guess!).
Just want to highlight this fact as most parents may not have the 2011 S1 posting booklet and may not be aware of this \"big discrepancy\" - usually most school is within 1 band difference only. Thought it is something worth noting for those interested in the school. -

Is somebody able to advise why there r only 68 expess schools in 2010 in the chart when there r clearly more express schools than that? Where do we find express banding of the schools not listed here ?

So your no.3 is gg to CHS Sec next year? I rec'd an email from them to put my sons in the waiting list (tsf). Do you know what are the chances like for tsf cases (Pri section) and is it wise to tsf if my son is gg to be P5 next year? :scratchhead: -

I'm afraid I'm not sure about the chances for Transfer cases - for primary. There are not all that many available places are there? I think the number manage to get a trsf place in primary are very small. The current minimum points for the boys to get into the affiliated secondary school is 230. But I think it's going to increase from next year. How much I don't know. Something for you to consider. -
HI Does anybody have an opinion of St Patrick’s School.
I’m shortlisting the list of east schools in the 22X region just in case my son gets T-scores around that.
