:salute: super agree! When MOM will give fair treatment to us? Then US got unfair treatment will MOM help? I shld change pass..port? :oops:MOM gets levy for nothing done...yet do not help employers when they have problems with maids...maid agencies get to enjoy another sum when maids are returned and have change of employer.
These maids don't have to pay anything...got food and accommodation. When sick, see doc also no need to pay. Got attitude problem, just show black face. If employer scolds, vent on kids or elderly. Should he/she hit, call MOM.
Shiok right? -

I try my best to tolerate my manager till i cant take it. I told one of my friend during company D&D for advise end up i went to union. Unitially i thought the story will end… i transferred to other branch and the new environment is gd im happy there. After my maternity, hq start to ter kan me as me to go diff branch to work everyday. Then they purposely to me to this problematic branch which is super far from my house. I need to travel from north to west everyday and my manager there is famous to kick ppl out so staff there turnover rate is high. When i approach union for help this time, the person didnt do his job at all… ended up im force to quit. (Im pregnant with my 3rd at that time)
I love my job and i never tot of leaving… the day i tender i couldnt bear to hand in my resignation.

My previous maid want high pay but dont know how to do housechores. I still need to help her wash clothes cos she dont know how to wash, i cook for her to eat cos she also dont know how to cook. As for wash floor, i know she lazy to sweep i ended up buy vacumm for her to use. She used iron already nv keep in cupboard cos she claim she forgotten then my son forehead got scald and i have to take urgent leave to go hm. Cant say much to her cos im afraid if i offend her wait she give me more problem. I bear with her till i cant take it anymore.. i quit my job and paid my notice just to make sure my house routine not affected and send her bk. :faint:
MOM here is so :slapshead:
They staff there got maid? I think if their maid got problem they sure do something but if not their maid i think they cant bother..
Imagine the maid know her employer work MOM u think she dare to be funny?
If i go overseas to work as maid dont know sg embassy at overseas will treat me like queen? :udawoman: -
RE: Lousy Ministry of Manpower (MOM)
I strongly agree! MOM never protect employer rights! Why must we be responsible when they runaway with their bf, borrow money we pay for them, come here work 1-2 month is ex sin still must give them more pay, got preg and we need to pay their airfare and send them back. Last min they want to quit they can just quit and no need to serve notice and still entitled off day every week like us and we still need to compensate them.
Can the maid got problem come back SG again to work? Yes, just change name and re entry…
If maid bring man home and thing is lost how? Employer problem not MOM or maid problem…
Maid lied about working history how? Employer must accept and bear with it! -

Such similar incident happened to me before but I didn't report to police. The place where I'm abused got CCTV captured but the top ppl cover up. The reason why I didn't fight back is because I still want to continue to work and earn money plus at that point of time I'm also pregnant. :gloomy:

Agree! Well said! :goodpost:I don't think is right to take an office employment as the absolute guideline for employment of domestic helper.
As an employer of both groups, I am definitely using different yardstick.
Simply put--
I do not have staff that think that they can knock at my door anytime for salary advancement. If they are in need of money, that's not a problem of mine.
I do not get my gate crashed for they personal loan or loan shark. For that matter, they can't use my home address as theirs, they do not have a chance to disrupt my life.
I would not be held responsible when my staff got herself pregnant from her EMA.
I do not have to answer to any authority if she thinks she can manage another job after office hours, unless the part time job is conflict of interest that might compromised my business.
I do not also, at anytime, put my young children under their charge.
I do not eat what my staff cooked, even she hates me, I will have no worry that my food be spiked.
I do not let them in charge of the security of my house, my belonging.
I do not house them, I do not subject to their emotional blackmail, I do not have to worry that they failed bi-yearly medical check up... even they are HIV positive we can still retain their service because we do not need to have close personal contact to interact.
I do not have the obligation to fly her home should she resigned.
In short, I do not have that much of the obligation for the average office staff.

Employer of a maid, is more to that... we are, their guardians... we have to ensure their safety and their well being, among other things...
Domestic helpers aren't our office staff. Period. Don't get yourself confused.
We cannot rely solely on them to auto assume their obligatory role to their employers, so, we exercise whatever influences we have on them, we guide, we fuss, we nag, we get ourselves upset and upset them...
For every right one wished to claim, there is also an obligatory duty to trade off, I am well aware of that... but if my maid is not aware of that, it's my duty to make her sees that, right?

I hope people can be more objective when they weight such issues.
