hello, someone who remember the dsa questions can tell me? science they test about what, i applied dsa this year, so i want know a bit

DSA theory phases primarily tests how much you know. It covers things that are not taught in lesson, to ensure that students who can do well are really passionate about mathematics and science, and read about them at their own time, outside of syllabus.

If you're normally very keen on science in your free time, reading science magazines and Wikipedia and things like that, you should be fine.

Any example on sci that they will test the kids on? sci is such a wide subject... TIA 😓

      Hi all,

Has anyone put in their applications for DSA to RI for their DS? They required the results and awards copies to be send in within 10 days. What about those certificates like leadership tranings, butterfly awards blah blah blah? :scratchhead: Duno what to do with these kind of certificates.. any use for these in the first place? :skeptical: Thanks!

    • RE: Anyone done NZ in caravans??

      sparks:
My sis did it last year & said she wldn't do it again. The main thing is that it's not really that comfortable (considering the campervan she rented was luxurious, new & not cheap). The campervan took up 1 whole lane, making it difficult to overtake slow moving vehicles. Also, many NZ roads do not have road dividers which is dangerous, IMO, esp if driver is tired whilst on the wheels.

We will want to try it, but only for a small part of the road trip just for the experience.
      Hi Sparks,

How many seater was the campervan that your sister rented and which company?
We saw the video and it looks big. We had done many road trips in US, Japan and Aussie before.. So kind of used to long road trips.. but never in campervans. Still thinking if we shd both islands in Campervan now... 😓

Cos rooms and car rentals r not cheap and cost a little more than Campervans and also i m quite sick of moving luggages up and down the car.. :scared:

    • RE: Travel: Thailand - Phuket

      partime-mum:
      Hi,

I am going to Phuket for 4days during the June holiday with hubby and 2 kids (age 8 and 6). I am planning to stay in a hotel around Karon or Patong area. How should I make my way to the hotel? Is it safe to just get a cab from the Phuket airport? How much will it be roughly?

For Day 2 and 3, I am planning for elephant trekking and boat trip (maybe to PhiPhi island). Do I have to engage a driver for 2days to drive us around? Or can I just ask get their local tour to pick us? Any recommendation for driver or tour agency? Is there any other activities that I must not miss? Will there be night market on the weekday?

      Thank you.
Go phuket often for holidays. For boat trips, i always look for Simba travel. Been with them for 2 or 3 trips. Own by a ang moh couple..very nice people..their own boats park in private marinas, a little pricey than the local ones but sure worth it!

Another fun experience for the kids is sail boat ride. Run by Aussie father and daughter. relaxing.. explore dark caves and old pirate caves! my boy loves it!

Karon has dino golf.. Mini golf park.. good to entertain them at night..

If u r there for the first time, Patong might be a better choice in terms of finding food and shopping. If u prefer quiet beach, Karon will be better then.

We studied some info online… planning on covering 2 islands both on caravan. initally wanted to do half on caravan and half in car n hotel… but car and hotel quite ex and i have to move luggages up and down daily… troublesome! we have total 16 days. south island has more stuff to do so will take abt 9-10 days …no fixed places to stay cos that’s the whole purpose of caravan… done afew road trips in Aussie and US before…got to rush like crazy each time to a prebooked hotel…quite tiring especially of gg for many days…

    • RE: Our Experience with PSLE and Suggestion for PSLE Preparation

Too easy a paper is not good. It will be testing who is less careless.

Perhaps last year’s paper looks easy but it’s actually not that easy? How else to explain that not a whole lot of students got A stars as you rightly pointed out.[/quote]

The principal of DC’s Sch is the one who pointed out to us tat the paper was way easier than expected. some kids r confused cos they doubt abt the qns as they do the paper. She also stress tat this is not good as any carelessness fr there will send the marks straight down…

It all depends on the child’s performance on the spot too I guess, some r calm n careful with checking while some might have ability in solving tougher qns but careless.
