      Hi mommies!

I was reading this thread from the beginning and was really convinced that Kids Art is a good art schhol till the last few posts. sob! sob! Could any mommies kindly recommend any good art schools in the west? I like the philosophy of kids art where they focus on techinique ratrher than those that expose kids to all types of mediums within a term.

BTW, mariadcruz & mummy of 2, have your kids been taught by Teacher Nita or Angela from Kids Art (Bt Timah Br)? How are they?

      TIA
Oh, i don't send my dearies to Kids Art.
I engage Teacher Thom from lifelong journey who comes down to our house to teach my DD and DS. Actually, taking all things into consideration (travel expenses, time and also one-to-one versus a classroom setting), I consider it value for money. šŸ™‚ Nothing beats individual attention for a tailored course. My kids can be a hyper bunch lol
Plus, the fact that my kids have been producing great works...and feel good about themselves! That's what counts most, at the end of my busy day lol

You can check out their website at

    • RE: To go to ITE or other options after o level?

      Resit, of course.

What could he do without an O level cert?
And getting an overseas degree that's not locally recognised might not serve him well next time.
      Just my humble opinion. šŸ˜„

Anyone can share their experience with Kids Art? Thier registration fee had been doubled to $60 & the program is $90-$100 for every 4 lessons.

I have stopped sending ds1 to kids art since nov last year cos they have getting part time Nafa students to teach and they don't really know how to teach. Kassie and Adrian are hardly at the Tiong bahru branch. And they want to shorten the lesson from 1.5 hr to 1 hr.

      I cant agree more!
My friend's kids were taught by all these Nafa students who don't know much about kids psychology at all. They don't know how to engage them and most seem to do it asa pasttime or a way to make money?
I myself wouldn't trust these youngsters to take care of my kids, even if they can do art...
Why should my kids be made guinea pigs of youngsters who are themselves learning art?
I think most parents hear the name nafa and think they're in for a good deal, but I think the outcomes should speak for themselves....
      Just my humble opinions.

    • RE: To take tuitions 121 or from tuition centre for resit?

      prettycure:
Like some opinions from experienced parents whether o level resit should take tuitions from different tuition centres or sign for a complete o level resit course under private instituions or private tutors 121?

Depends on how many subjects to resit...
If the child has not done well in a classroom setting, I think she wouldnt do well in a private institution either.
One on one will probably help to focus directly on the child, rather than having the teacher's attention all spread out.
I think the cost is different, but you pay for what you get.
Just my humble opinion. What do other parents think?

    • RE: Help for little girl with no birth cert - P1 registration

      sashimi:
Thanks, you two! Appreciate your responses, I'll look into them for my uncle. My heart also goes out to the little girl, she's like most girls her age, playful and sweet, quite pretty, a little rebellious. I fear that without the right environment and support, and faced with the inevitable ostracization and rude stares she's going to get in the future in this lousy society, she's going to change for the worse. I would really hate to see this happen. I don't know her father, but her caretaker is a nice kind man, with 2 grown kids and also grandfather to one.

Think I'll ring MOE (does that even help??!?) and ask about this situation as well.

Appreciate any advice anyone else can give - esp. if you've seen such a situation develop before. Thanks!
So what happened in the end?
Perhaps the thread starter can update so that others in similar situations can find help and solace?

Lost this thread for a while. Haha you're right, my dh screams in fear - internally cause he's petrified that I may scratch his precious car. He squirms so much that I get very put off using his car. I hate driving with him in the car. I have driven BMW and Mercedes before, it's just his car that really gives me a mental barrier. Step a little too hard on the accelerator and he's obviously cringing. If not for my kids, I rather take a bus than use his car. I hate it.

Perhaps you can consider get another 2nd hand car where you can drive at ease. Imagine drive BMW, Mercedes where parking indeed requires some skills.

Lol. Well said. It's a hubby thing! They are always afraid of us scratching the cars... Always lamenting about women drivers!

      Champion:

      Hi TAS,
I have sent you an e-mail and waiting for your reply; thanks šŸ˜„

      Hi Champion,

I am not sure if we have replied you as we do not know which email
belongs to you but we should have replied you šŸ˜„

      TAS

The same question about the use of the word \"reply\"or \"replied\"here..
      Also, I wouldn't say\"\"Which email belongs to you?\". Instead, \"Which is your email?\"
The first sentence sounds somewhat like a translation from Chinese?
      No offence. šŸ™‚
