@Summ3r Very late reply, registration would have been completed by now. 😁 We had a change of principal last year. When there is a change, there is bound to be comparisons. To be fair to her, I must say the previous principal set a really high benchmark. She was very popular with the parents and kids. When the new principal came, as difficult as it already is to have to prove herself, she made redesigned the school’s logo and values which is a big no-no. Definitely started with the wrong foot. But we’ll have to wait and see how the school progresses under her leadership.

There were some good changes too such as memo are released before term break instead of after new term started 😝 And I like how Thu is a shorter school day so that they can end CCA 30min earlier than before. Small changes that I have to give her credit for.

Hope your child blossom and grow well in whichever primary school he ends up in. 😊

I asked the same question too during my children times there. In the morning many students walk together along it to school. It’s a well maintained jogging/cycling track along the canal with proper street lights. Just like any park connector after night fall , we don’t expect many people using it especially its near private estate. But my son says students walk in group after cca ended in the evening to the mrt station. But a short distance at opposite side of the canal has few blocks of condo and is bright
Thank you for your prompt reply! 🙂

Around 8min, from MRT Staton , cross the canal, walk along it, turn left into to private estate, to school’s back gate
Thank you! The path along canal is quite safe and not like, deserted yeah? Will they end CCA or event late such that they leave the school after dark?

How long does it take to walk from Dakota MRT to the school? Is it along the canal?

Hoping to also hear whether the student care has staffs to monitor homework doing. I heard my friend at Redhill that his son often comes home with undone homework. There is no one really pushing kids to do the homework. thanks thanks and happy Chinese New Year!
      Yes they do monitor.

      @mini-Bug,
thanks so much for your quick and insightful answer!

May I know for younger kids (P1-P3), how long is scheduled to be the napping time? I checked the schedule of a private student care near the school and the entire napping time is only 0.5h. To my boy, that would be too little as it takes him some time to calm down before falling asleep.
Nap time would be an hour. It might not be sufficient but they will still need to do homework so can't nap for long.

I have checked other student cares before, few years ago, some don't even have naps. A centre-in-charge confidently told me with friends around, the kids wouldn't want to sleep at all!

      Hi,
Could anyone kindly share the criteria of registering the school-based student care in Yumin? There is no information about it at all on its official website.

Some parents said a few years ago that the student care was inflexible and would allow pick-up at a certain time every hour strictly. Is it still the same rule now?

Also any general feedback on the student care is highly appreciated! Thanks!
Hi, if demand is higher than supply, the principal decides. Priority given to siblings already with the centre, those without other caregiver and both parents are working. Generally, those who need it most are more likely to get it lah.

There are still set timings for pick ups but you can communicate with the centre to make special arrangement at other timings. It is just a bit more troublesome since the centre is very much inside the school and a teacher will bring your very young kid out. When they are bigger, they can walk out themselves.

Now with covid, they don't get to sleep on the floor in sleeping bag. They lay their heads on the tables. Younger kids get to nap longer. Older kids have very limited to no time for napping. Change of fresh clothes, no shower even pre-covid.

Hi, is your child already in Yumin or you will be enrolling this year? We do have a whatsapp group for P1/2022.
