Initially, I was concerned with my son attending neighbourhood school but now I am actually glad.
Unlike in "reputable" schools which have very high expectations on results…I don’t want to pressure my children at such a young age and put them off in learning. I believe learning should be fun to begin with and because neighbourhood schools are generally not too pressurised with school work. My children could learn so many other enrichment lessons outside of school, from Violin, Fencing to Speech and Drama.I wish my children to be all rounder and not just academically inclined.
However, having said that, when it is time for my son to go to a secondary school; I will definitely choose a "reputable" secondary school. At that age, it is the "right time" for them to learn how to cope with stress, heavy work load and pressure which they will face in adult hood.
But mean time, my kids are not rushing to grow up too soon. They are happy and active kids I must say.
FMz:Hi May I know have you found any school for Aikido?Any one sent their kid for Aikido class?
Which association did you sent your kids to? (Aikido Shinju kai, Aikido Federation etc)
keenDaddy:May I know what school is PMI? thanksHi sean wife,
think there are a lot of choices around the area.
the premium ones like PMI, Pats School Hse, Eton House@Novena... think they are just side-by-side
the mid-range ones like Learning Visions@IRAS/Gentle Rd, Cambridge beside Novena sq, Cherie Hearts@kim keat...
guess u shld shortlist and visit them....
oh that is not very nice considering the amount of fees you are paying. I will definitely not be happy if I am at the situation. I don’t mind paying for premium fees if only the class is small so each kid get full attention from the teacher.
I am disappointed to learn about this as I was considering putting my kid to Pat’s next year

I would like to put my son’s name down on the waiting list for next year. As I’m not in Singapore right now, I have emailed them (Buckley) a couple of times without any reply. I’d really appreciate any advice based on your experience in making the application as I’m hoping I can do this without having to go in person.
Thank you!, really appreciate your reply. Will check out those schools you mentioned when we arrived in S’pore.

Have you found any good preschool around Balestier/Whampoa area?..We are moving to Balestier next year and I have no ideas with the schools there. Can you recommend me any? Thanks
Can anyone recommend a good preschool or kindergarten around Balestier, Novena, Toa Payoh area. We are looking to relocate to S’pore early next year. My son is turning 4 next year. I don’t mind the local preschools/kindergarten. Thank you
