    • RE: Nan Chiau Primary

Hi all, I’m new here. My boy has managed to get a place for 2015 in Nan Chiau under phase 2C through balloting. However, to date we have not receive any letter from MOE or the school. Has anyone received any letter for their kids going to P1 next yr under Phase 2C? Thanks!

      Hi Poohbear,

Is it you can have more than 1 referral for each term sign-up of 10 classes. Cos I see you have so many referrals so im just wondering if CMA gives you 8% discount for each referral or they only give you a 1 time off of 8% discount for each term? Thanks. šŸ™‚

Anyone knows how to drop out of CMA? Any penalties?

Hi, if im not wrong you have to give a notice period, though im not sure how long. Don't think there's any penalties. N there was a deposit paid upon registraton. Think u can get that back. U can always call the centre to get exact details. Hope this helps. šŸ™‚

Hi, anyone with young kids who are wearing glasses? My 4 yr old boy is recently found to be myopic and has been wearing glasses abt 1+mth. Any advice on how to teach the child to take gd care of his glasses? I keep telling him not to remove his glasses unless teachers at childcare or myself and hubby is around to help him but at times he still tries to remove the glasses himself. N barely 2mths his glasses are kinda crooked aldy. Need to go back to the optician to get it back to shape. šŸ˜ž

Hi Miuz, try to get him the plastic frame & not those thin metal frame. The plastic frame is more durable. My DS used to wear those thin metal frame glasses & I need to get them change half yearly. After changing to plastic frame, he has been wearing for nearly a year without causing any major \"harm\" to the spectacles. šŸ˜„

Hi Flowermonaster, I got my boy the Swissflex plastic frame glasses. Its quite good actually. He's quite rough and careless in handling them but fortunately after repeated reminders n teachings he's gotten better at handling the glasses and understands that its important that he handles it with care. tks for the advice šŸ™‚

Hi miuz, how did you realize that your kid needs glasses? One of my worries about my child is him being myopic. As I read your post, I begin to imagine him wearing glasses and getting them damaged while he is in childcare (nobody to guide him on his glasses and his garmen I.e mummy not around).... :faint:

Hi Imami, I'm lucky that my DS's childcare teacher found that one of his eyes wasn't focused on a person/object when he was talking or looking at the person/object. And she alerted us thinking that he may have \"lazy\" eye. That prompted us to bring him for an eye-check at the Polyclinic. After consultation with the GP, the diagnosis was that he may have stabismus or what we term as \"lazy eye\". A referral was given and we brought him to the KK Hospital Eye Centre to have his eyes checked by the Optometrists there. Various tests was done and it took abt 4 hrs. The end result was that my boy has myopia, astigmatism and strabismus/lazy eye. An advice to all parents, get your kid's eye sight checked as early as 3 yrs old.
